LOVE AND PUNISHMENT
Ideal for parents like me. Spanking children is really hard for me as well as for kids. This book gives me so much inputs on how to properly spank, punish, disciple kids in a way that it is a mean of showing love. This book guides me in explaining and making them realized the value of everything. Great book for parents.

Be a better parent dont spank
Try learning long term proven effects of spanking and why you should act like an adult instead of a child. Pretty hypocritical telling your kids not to hit when you hit them and no its not any different

Don't waste your money
Please save your money on this garbage and read a REAL parenting book. I recommend "Peaceful Parents, Happy Kids" by Laura Markham. It teaches gentle parenting methods that actually really work and result in children who are well-behaved because they are emotionally connected to their parents and mutual respect is formed. Parenting with fear and shame is non-productive and damaging. Hitting another human being isn't the way to teach a lesson.

"effective method"
so many people brag that their children have dark red bottoms and this method is Soooooo effective. If its so effective, why do you need to use it more than once. CPS should look into some of these comments.

Stop spanking your children
stop hitting your children. We don’t solve our conflicts as adults by hitting each other, we shouldn’t teach our kids that violence is a proper punishment for someone who doesn’t do what we want them to. I’m not allowed to hit my employees, friends, or even people I don’t know when they misbehave.

Tried and true methods used for hundreds of years!
This is a great and very balanced book. As for the negative reviews, I'd love to see how all the non-spanking parents discipline and how effective their method is. I've been a child educator for over a decade and I can tell you with certainty that "time-out" or taking away a toy or television is completely unaffective. Children need to be taught rules and obedience from a young age and consistently onward or it will be an uphill battle in their teens. Kids given time out just go into their imagination and continue to play in their mind. There is no lesson learned from taking away a TV show. Another reviewer said that as adults we don't get hit for doing something wrong at work... I need to laugh at that person's logic. Because as adults, we have far greater punishments than a spanking for not following the rules and respecting authority. It's called prison. It's called losing your job. Teaching discipline and respect starts early and if you are a parent yourself, you know that kids do not learn by simply being told no. It takes them only seconds to forget and start displaying bad behavior again. I'd bet money that all the one star reviewers either do not have children or have deviants as teenagers and young adults. Pretty sure we call them millennials. Entitled members of Society who are now frighteningly raising their own children who do not respect authority. All that aside my children, four to be exact, always received love and affection and their good behavior was rewarded and reinforced. But if they had to be told no more than once, they got the "stick". Today they are loving, caring, fun and respectful members of society. They never had a bruise or mental damage and they will tell you so. They will also tell you that they will raise their kids the way they themselves were raised. Just as my mother did and my grandmother before here. Just because its 2019 doesn't mean that some tried and true methods should be tossed out. I've never met a person who is mentally damaged from gentle discipline that is done in love.

Brave and considered
We live in an age where 'two legs bad, four legs good' has become a reality. It is hard now to have a sensible debate about anything without hysterical screams being used to shout down any view that does not meet the accepted norm. Corporal punishment (spanking) is abuse and that is it. If anyone tries to suggest that it may have a value the word 'abuse' or 'abuser' is simply shouted over and over again until the speaker is silenced. We see that attitude over and over again. Tim Farron, leader of the Lib-Dems, is a Christian. As leader of the Lib-Dems he has said unequivocally that the party supports the rights of the LGBTG community. However, he is a Christian so it is demanded that he say whether he thinks homosexuality a sin or not. He refuses and he is screamed at hysterically to apologise. We are told it is 'unacceptable' that he won't say. Thus his rights to a private life, to have religious views and keep them private are denied. That is why I am astonished that the author has had the courage to write this book. It doesn't matter whether you agree or not a considered view that CP or spanking has a place has been put forward and we should all know what it is if only to challenge it intelligently. Well written, intelligent and well argued whether you agree or not.

Die "how to give a spanking" stelle waren vielleicht 2 Seiten von den... öhm... 30? Seiten.
