This battery is a perfect fit for a Dell Studio 1737 Laptop.Once I did a proper discharge and then recharge, the battery lasted 4 hours between charges.You must follow the instruction in the User Manual in order to get a full charge.1.) Make sure you disable the screen saver, and change the power settings in your laptop to always on by selecting Control Panel, System and Security then Power Options. Change the dropdown “Turn off Display” and “Put the computer to sleep" options to “Never”.2.) Power down the laptop, and remove the old battery. Replace the battery and power up the laptop (WARNING: Do not replace the power cord).3.) The laptop will power up and by hovering over the battery, you will be able to see the charged amount of the battery from the manufacture (NOTE: The battery from the manufacture was almost fully charged).4.) Launch the Dell Battery Meter from the Dell Tools (Battery.exe) or use some other battery monitoring software to keep an eye on the % discharged.5.) DISCHARGE the laptop battery till 2% (At least 5% for Microsoft Vista Operating systems). WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW THE BATTERY to go below 2%.6.) Once the battery reaches the 2% (or 5% mark), replace the laptop charger cord.7.) FULLY CHARGE the Laptop back to 100%.8.) At 100%, remove the Laptop charger cord, and repeat steps 5-7.Your battery will now be ready for normal use and you should get 4 hours on a charge doing light internet surfing and simple application use. Using more processor intensive applications like streaming video or DVD you should get 3 hours on a charge.Please note, never discharge the battery to 0% because it can cause harm to the battery. The steps above will lengthen your Laptop Battery and will make sure it takes a full charge in the future.

The battery works as intended and is a fit for my Dell Studio 1737. I had an issue with the first battery I received from them, it wasn't charging. I started to go through the refund process, they emailed me almost immediately, told me to just keep the first battery and they sent me another one priority, I received it in three days. Excellent service and I advise anyone to use this seller if you can. I can't compliment them enough, just great service and products, there can be a bad apple in every bunch, it doesn't point to the quality of all their hardware overall.

Doesn't charge to 100%, I purchased this battery less than a year ago and it worked ok for about 3 months but it just stopped taking a charge. This is my work computer so I don't use it everyday. Even though it says plugged in charging 32% it doesn't change. It's been saying the same thing for more than 6 months. As soon as I take it out the plug it shuts down. SO, I have to purchase ANOTHER battery, AGAIN. I wish Dell sold replacement batteries for older laptops so I wouldn't have to purchase fugazi batteries.

I originally gave this seller 5 stars for the order when I first received it. Now this battery is slowly losing charge, and the end is near. I realize that the battery is over 1 year old, but I did realize this was occurring before the battery was past the one year point, but it was so slight that I just thought there was nothing to worry about. What is the expected life of this product?

I'm writing this review using the full charged battery for a 17" Dell Studio 1737. The initial charge lasted one and a half hours and the second charge is topping three hours. That is a good performance.I did not expect the battery to add height to the computer base with a lower bar, nevertheless it helps the ventilation system underneath. It's a good improvement.

I got this battery for two reasons.#1 Run time, when I'm traveling and need to do business, where all I have is a Wireless USB stick and nowhere to plug in, this battery works great.#2 to elevate my laptop and have it run cooler without having to prop it up...It adds some minor weight to an already heavy 17" laptop and that's ok.Would definitely buy one again.

Review update - After using the battery for a few weeks it now holds a charge for 4 to 5 hours.Original review - I purchased this battery to replace the original 9 cell Dell battery that is several years old. The original battery when new would last 5 or 6 hrs of continuous use between charges. This battery shows 5+ hrs of charge when fully charged, but actually only last 2+ hrs before it required recharging.

This was the answer when my laptop battery died. Since the laptop was more than 5 years old, Dell doesn't carry replacement parts for them. This battery took a full charge upon receiving it. I then used the computer until the battery was just almost dead before recharging it again. After charging it this way from the beginning, it will now hold a charge for SEVERAL hours. Very good product.
