From the Manufacturer Kimochi (Key.Mo.Chee) means "feeling" in Japanese. And Kimochis are what come inside each character. Kimochis are small pillows with a feeling (happy, sad, silly, brave) printed on one side, and a corresponding facial expression on the other. Each Kimochi character comes with a set of three feelings and a How-To Kimochis Feel Guide. The characters also have a special pocket where kids can store their "Kimochis" - or feelings. Using the characters and their Kimochis, kids can get in touch with their emotions through puppetry and play. The Feel Guide introduces the fun and quirky personalities of each character and offers parents fun tips and engaging activities to help strengthen parent child connections and develop healthy social and emotional skills. Go on. Express yourself with Kimochis.

A few years ago I got cloud for my daughter and wanted to get a different character for my son and decided on Huggtopus. I think he is way better! His head is super soft and you can fit (or shove) about six emotions in his mouth. I also like that he comes with silly and frustrated, which is perfect for helping a one year old identify their feelings. You can't seem to get those emotions separately in a mix like a lot of others yet. In general, I like to use these guys for figuring out emotions during a time out for 1 to 3 year olds.

Cute and helpful
I really like that these toys have personalities and do not all have the same feelings included with them. Each Kimochi has a book to discuss feelings and how to work with your child about talking about feelings. I think this is a great concept and will use it when I work with kids in a counseling session.

I feel like having fun!
I got 3 of these for Christmas gifts for my nieces, 2 adopted and one now living with grandparents. We got the Cloud, the bug and the octopus after reading the story of each they fit the girls perfectly. The kids love them and they are so helpful when talking about feelings and how they work or should.

I love these dolls
I got Huggs within weeks of purchasing Cloud for my 21month old son. They work well together and the 5 emotions (both come with a happy) are great basic ones to get started with. Between the two dolls, he's learning to express himself positively even when he's angry or sad, and we're just beginning to work on boundaries with Huggs (my son can totally overpower people with affection too! well, other little people that is...).Cloud has short-circuited many a tantrum already, within a month of introducing him, and I'm confident that Huggs will be just as successful with boundaries and when to give affection.I didn't rate durability because I haven't had them long, but they seem like they will hold up nicely.

Cute & cuddly
Really love this kimchi friend. Has helped my four year old process frustration and sillies --highly recommend. Cute and soft--just wish they weren't so expensive.

I love Kimochis!!
These aren't just good for children. I use them at the office as well. If someone is losing their cool, I pull out the box of Kimochis and tell them to choose rather than speak. It enables a person time to calm down and get some perspective on what's going on before we have a conversation about it. I've really been surprised how well it works. Plus they're cute...who isn't a sucker for cute? They are well made and last until someone else envies their cuteness and takes a few.
