It's just "ok", not great, but not terrible either. To be honest it's a lot moister than I expected, I thought it would be much drier. It's not bad tasting, but the flavor is rather on the bland side, there's no real impression of any particular "flavor" that pops out at you like salt or vinegar, which are the two top ingredients after beef, and the spices don't add any discernible flavor at all that I can detect. More salt and/or vinegar flavor would definitely improve the taste of this stuff a lot IMO. Don't get me wrong, this stuff isn't bad, it's chewy, and doesn't appear to have much if any fat or gristle, which is good, but there's just not enough flavor to set this apart from other Biltong products i've tried. I realize taste is a very personal matter, and different people like different flavors, but I don't think I would purchase this product again.

Item has a good flavor, however is extremely tough. Its so hard that makes it unpleasant to eat!!! I purchased 3 different types (droewors, which i trashed), Biltong (didnt try yet, and I dont think I will, co sidering the other ones) and the chunks, which i trashed too. These purchased was a waste of money, unfortunately.

I can't recommend this brand enough. Being on a keto diet, a lot of the jerkies on the market have too much sugar to be worth eating, but I was surprised to find this brand with ~1g per serving. The bag arrived vacuum sealed with everything still intact(other brands leave it loose and then by the time the box gets to you, you're left with a bag of crumbles). The taste is top notch, nothing crazy overboard or artificial tasting but it tastes exactly how you imagine jerky should taste. It seems like they used really good quality meat and didn't need to throw a bunch of extra ingredients/preservatives in while preparing it. The bag itself seemed like more than 8oz but I didn't weigh it. If you're looking for a quality product, that tastes good with minimal processing (and made in the US) this is your ticket. I look forward to ordering more in the future.

This will be my last purchase of this brand. The chunks were under dried. Tendons so chewy that a dog would have a difficult time eating it. The taste no where near the original biltong I've had hand made from a guy that makes it here from scratch. Tastes exactly like the regular Bledie Lekker I gave bad reviews to a little while ago. I just wanted to give them another chance. This is just corned beef with very little seasoning and under dried with the texture of eating a raw piece of goat. Lol. Ayoba yo is 10 times better. Edit Feb 22, 2020: It's a bit or miss. I needed biltong real quick since I ran out of Ayoba yo so I just clicked on anything in my past orders and took a Gamble and ordered bleddie chunks. Wow. This one was ONO! Still chewy with lots of tendons but it was tasty and not like my previous ones that was bland and chewy corned beef. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and order 2 more. I will let you know if it was a fluke.

Closest in taste and texture to biltong in South Africa after trying multiple brands in the US. So good!

I have enjoyed biltong most of my life. So I am picky. I have seen a lot more of it on offer in USA. Which is great. Unfortunately one can't sample before one makes a purchase. I have been let down by numerous providers - often on this site. This particular order promised a lot. But the product was a real let down and for the price - embarrassing. The "chunks" were wet and very very fatty. They had a rancid taste which was relatively disgusting. Stryve actually makes a decent product at a good fair price and one can even find it in Target or WalMart. I would not recommend this product and would not purchase it again. What a waste for congealed chunks of rancid tasting fat. Very dissapointed.
