Vocaloid3 MEIKO V3 [Japan Import]

Vocaloid 3 comes with an English voice bank which greatly simplifies using Meiko for English songs. Prior to this Japanese phonetics had to be tweaked a lot to produce something approximating English and the only Japanese Vocaloid that had English Capabilities was Luka. There are of course Vocaloids by English based companies. But Meiko now Joins them as a real choice for English Electronic song producers. Though the timing of the release of V3 Meiko is somewhat ill chosen given that V4 and EVEC are soon to be released. Fortunately V3 Meiko can be ported into V4.

Meiko was difficult to install, along with the Presonus Studio because it was in Japanese. After looking up a tutorial on Youtube, I was able to figure it out. Overall, I'm very satisfied with her voice, and am excited to use her in the future. Her English voice bank is especially well done, seeing how it's not her first language. Honestly, it's probably just as good as any of the other English Vocaloids out there, and certainly better than Miku, Kaito, or Luka. Although her English is good, my favorite voice is Meiko Power, because it has the best vocal range and is suitable for almost any song. Her other voice banks - Dark, Whisper, & Straight are very good too. I would recommend Meiko V3 to any Vocaloid user, even a beginner - just be prepared to have difficulties installing it.

Excellent. I've got it, in good state, no problem with the package.Two disadvantages :1) The activation of MEIKO V3 is a bit complicated, for non-Japanese speakers. There is no guide in English which is precise about the activation.2) The delivery times are not very precise about the arrival date, and I was thinking that I will have it earlier...

I was super-excited when I heard that MEIKO would be updated for Vocaloid 3, not only that, but she would be getting an Engliah Append! While I have never had the chance to play with her V1 voicebank, as a fan of many producers who use her and from what I can tell from sound, this is an exceptional update! The new recordings sound close enough to her V1 where you don't miss it too much, and funny enough, her POWER Append I think sounds closer to her original voice than her STRAIGHT.She comes with five appends: STRAIGHT, POWER, WHISPER, DARK, ENGLISH. I have to say that POWER is by far my favorite, since Meiko has always had a strong voice and to have a true append for this is awesome. Her English is fairly clear, with about a medium accent, and with the right parameters, can sound much more understandable. If you were to mix English and Japanese together, I recommend using her "Dark" Append, as that is nearly identical to her English sound. Using her has been quite fun and fairly easy. Since I am new to using Vocaloid, I had to figure out a few things, but it wasn't too bad since I am an UTAU user which can often be harder to use in comparison.Best part is, since she is a Cryptonloid, she is a full package! I won't be able to afford the full Vocaloid editor anytime soon, but it comes with Piapro Studio, a plugin for Studio One Artist (that she also comes with!) that is Crypton's own full editor for their voicebanks only. So if you're a beginner to Vocaloid, MEIKO is definitely worth getting. You have five appends, a music editor, Piapro Studio to subsitute Vocaloid 3 if you do not have the full editor already...literally everything you need to start making your own music! I've already worked on an English original, all I need to do now is figure out how to compose the music (trust me, making original vocals is the easiest part of them all!) I've always adored MEIKO's mature, more natural sounding voice, and her voice definitely works with all sorts of music~

MEIKO V3 comes complete with 5 voices, Piapro Studio Vocal Editor, Studio One 2.0, and PreSonus digital instruments. I have to say that the artwork and quality of this Vocaloid is really amazing which is to be expected now from Crypton Future Media, but I was really surprised on how great Haigo Meiko's English is. Meiko always had something about her that I liked more than other voices and Miku Dark sorta has it too which is the womanly maturity in her syllables. I am currently working on learning the new voices since I only worked with MEIKO V3 Power up to this point. Now onto the voicebanks in her package.- MEIKO V3 Power is similar to Meiko Straight, but has an extremely powerful voice range made for heavy rock songs.- MEIKO V3 Straight has a natural tone similar to V1 Meiko without the vintage to her voice like with KAITO V3.- MEIKO V3 Dark has an even more mature and deep vocal tone almost like bad girl yet still gentle and calm.- MEIKO V3 Whisper has a really soft voice similar to that of Kaito V3 Whisper.- MEIKO V3 English has a tone similar to MEIKO V3 Straight, but a more gentle sound to her voice. She can sing English the clearest out of all of Crypton's Vocaloids.

After a decade she got a update. Her power bank carries the thing. I think her english is the best out of any other cryptonloids.

She can sing Japanese and English. and there is great DAW Studio One bundled. Thanks for great VOCALOID library.

初心者インストールの罠の一つWindows版ではSutdio Oneとpiapro studioの両方とも64か32で揃っていないと認識しない、という部分があの説明書ではやっぱりわかりづらいです。Studio Oneは上位版でも64版で32のプラグインが使えないのでこれは仕様なのですが、間違えたらアンインストールしてやり直しとなるわけですから、これは辛いです。ちなみにStudio One Artistはpiapro studioとMUTANT以外のVSTプラグインやRewireは使えません。また、他のオーディオインターフェイスなどにバンドルされているStudio One Artistと違ってKomplete Playersはついてこないのでこの辺も注意が必要です。ボーナスサンプルは初音ミクV3とは違う内容のものでした。しかし、初音ミクV3をインストールした後の状態でインストールしようとすると『piapro studioは既にインストールされています』という主旨のメッセージが出てpiapro studio、MUTANTインストール後にインストールされるらしいサウンドデータが手に入りません。このあたりの方法がわからず、仕方ないので一度piapro studio、MUTANTをアンインストールしてMEIKO版のディスクを使って再インストール、ようやく手に入れられました。こんなことをしなくてもいい方法があるのでしたら、このあたりもわかりやすく書いておいてほしかったです。ライブラリはベタ打ちでもそこそこ歌ってくれますが、調声をしてあげると結構変わります。個人的にはDarkが気に入りました。めーちゃんが好きだから★5にします。

何曲か歌わせてみましたが、KAITO v3が、ともすればのっぺりボイスなのに比べると、こちらは比較的明朗な発音をしてくれる感じがしますので、KAITO v3よりは使いやすい印象があります。KAITO v3で言えばSOFTに相当すると思われるDARKがわりと気に入っています。
