Effective. Basically the previous Proctor sling with better equipment for the paracord ends.
This sling is exactly as advertised - it's cheap, simple, rugged and effective. It's exactly what I wanted; a sling that wasn't a fancy, padded, quick-adjustable sling for Professional Operators with a price tag to match; nor was it an awful quality $20 sling from the sporting goods aisle at Wal-Mart.The paracord loops used for attaching work quite well. The paracord is one of the thinner grades and quite slick, so it's easy to thread it through gaps in a handguard and make a slipknot of it. The installation advice video Proctor has on Youtube suggests looping one end through itself on the buttstock, then putting the other loop over the handguard (seating in a picitinny rail groove) and sliding the built-in heavy-duty plastic sleeve upwards to cinch it down and hold it. I suppose this might work, but instead of trusting it, I simply disassembled the two halves of the sling (threaded through the adjustment buckle,) looped the front part of the sling through itself, and re-threaded both halves together through the buckle as it was before. The result is a very secure fit. The plastic collar works as advertised; the loops stay cinched tight, and since the sling's looped through itself there's no possibility of the sling ever parting company with the rifle. The sling is also very minimalist (as one can see) and lightweight. This thing fills a niche and fills it very well - and at the right price, too.

Review
The slider is awful. Enjoy picking up the “platforms” weight to adjust the length each time

Satisfied
Great minimalist sling. A little high on the price. I’ll keep it but I would not buy another one.

Perfect minimalist sling
So good I bought two. Everything you need in a sling and nothing you don't.

Can dig into your shoulder after an hour or two
Be prepared for this to dig into your shoulder if you're walking for an hour or two. Also, at least with my rail setup the lightweight loops used to make the actual attachment are going to wear through pretty quickly.
