The description could have been better on this item. The Amazon title states "Multi Tool Survival Tools for Emergency Camping Walking Hiking for Dog,OutRoom", which I interpreted as it being a walking/hiking stick. The first descriptive line states "Open Length:26 inches. Close Length: 8 inch", but I measured it as open 26", closed 11". So, bad on me for thinking I could use a 26" stick as a walking/hiking stick. The product details also state it weighs 1.45 pounds but I weighed it as 2.2 pounds. It feels heavy to carry but if you need protection while out walking around, this could do the trick. I show in one of my pictures that the stick, when closed, fits into a cover that closes with velcro, which fits into the 2-piece plastic case. There is also a separate pointed end (in my picture, it's on the 2" end of the yardstick) which replaces the rounded end (on the 1" end of the yardstick). After you take the stick out of the velcro package, it just takes a quick flick of your wrist to open the stick to its full length. If you press it to the ground, or some hard service, it easily closes to it's 11" length.

Awesome telescopic stick, just a simple flick of the wrest and it’s extended and ready to use!

a very fine 26 inches self defense weapon, purchased to defend myself against aggressive dogs in the neighborhood. It should be good for that use

I've used this defensive tool for several years. I always carry it when walking or hiking.
