Amazing!
This product is amazing! We had water flood our basement, and we didn't think we needed the professionals to come clean it up. After finally getting everything dry, the basement smelled horribly like mildew. We tried Rug Doctor Odor Remover and that did nothing. We purchased OdorZout as a last resort. We were given very good instructions by the company to sprinkle the product very sparingly and then run a fan on it overnight. They said better to do two applications than use too much because using too much would work just the opposite and hold the odor in. We left it for almost 24 hours. The room still stunk awfully after that time, and we were convinced it hadn't worked until we vacuumed up the granules. The room smells perfectly fine now. We were so amazed!

Thought it wasn't working, but it surprised me!
I think this worked pretty well. We noticed that after we sprinkled it on the carpet and followed the directions of letting it sit and airing it out while it sat on the carpet, that the smell was worse! We were really concerned that it was just making the problem worse. After I vacuumed it all up, it did help. There was a difference. I did it twice. I used the entire container on a small master bedroom floor. I would get it again. I'm not sure it really helped as much as I had hoped, but I do think it helped and would purchase again.

Not very satisfied as carpet smell did not go away..
We have an older dog who leaves a very familiar smell although she is always bathed and clean. She sleeps in my office that has very thin carpet and the smell gets so bad although we vacuum once every few days. Tried this product as many others with perfume enhancement are too strong for senses. Left on the floor overnight, vacumed the next morning and the smell was still there. It decreased slightly and there wasnt a perfume smell, but still not worth the time and money. Still looking for a better product.

AWESOME!!
Some years back, despite my severe allergy, I rescued two stray cats.. It was winter, they were so thin, and I had not the heart to "leave them to their fate".. So, I took them in.. I had a room that had nothing in it, and I made that their space.. Because, again, I have a severe allergy to cats.. so much so, I have asthma attacks. They had everything they needed.. food, water, litter pan, attention from my son, and beds and toys.. However, the male was not neutered, so in the 2 months I had them before finding them a home, the male sprayed.. and he sprayed everywhere on the carpet..Suffice to say, the room smelled HORRIBLE.. That horrid ammonia smell that anyone with a cat is well aware of.. I tried EVERYTHING.. shampooing, boxes upon boxes of baking soda, charcoal, a month long room airing by opening the windows, putting a fan in to blow air out of the room to outside.. another shampooing.. (not hot steam, but cold shampooing, heat sets stains and odors).. and none of it worked.. Then I found this stuff.. I LOVE this stuff.. it REALLY WORKS! You don't need a ton of it either.. the room that was effected is more than 450sqft, and it took less than a half of a cup of ODORZOUT to get rid of the smell.. I left the granules on the floor for 3 days, and then vacuumed.. The smell hasn't returned.. This stuff is awesome!

Go outside, scoop some dirt and spread it on your rug instead
I really, really, REALLY should have heeded the previous warnings that this product didn't work and just made an impossible mess on carpets.I sprinkled the product throughout a 8' x 10' area of short berber carpet and let it sit overnight (actually 14 hours) and vacuumed as instructed. The product didn't do anything to improve the puppy mess smell from the carpet which was nuisance enough, but what's worse is that a year later, despite vacuuming twice a week, using various vacuums (Hoovers, Dyson), wet vacuums (Bissel) having three different professional carpet cleaners clean the carpet, granules were STILL coming out from the carpet. The only way to actually clean all the granules was to replace the carpet with a brand new one.Instead of using this product on carpets, I suggest using Bissell wet vacuums, either full size or the auto mini-vacuum with the Pet urine cleaner rather than using Odorzout. It might seem more expensive buying a Bissell wet vacuum, but in actuality, you will spend more money, time and energy on a 30 oz bottle of Odorzout, since it doesn't work and it will be like dealing with a construction project trying to clean up the granules. Whereas as a Bissell wet vacuum will clean up messes & smells and can be used again and again. So save yourself the aggravation and the money and do NOT even think of buying or using this product.

May or may not work
Arrived quickly but not really sure it helped much in my situation. We keep our two cats in basement at night and was using it in litter box to help with the "cat dirt" smell. But then again I haven't been consistent in using it because I am not the one that normally takes care of the litter boxes. Therefore, I can't really give a fair review of it. Probably would not buy again.

I love this stuff!
I bought this product to try to get a mildewy "old house" smell out of my daughter's box spring and mattress. I'll admit it took a few tries, but it worked! I sprinkled it all over the surface, let it sit for a few days, then vacuumed it off. Turned them over and did the process again. By about the fourth application, the nasty odor was gone. OH, and at the same time, I decided to try it on a very old mahogany dresser and chest that I had tried everything on, and had had dipped and refinished. That "old smell" was still in the drawers. It worked! I've reccommended this product and the laundry one to all my friends.

The odorzout helped a great deal with those areas
I bought a vinyl recliner at a resale shop. I got it home before realizing that it reeked of smoke. It had probably been inside a smokers house for many years. I repeatedly cleaned the vinyl surfaces with various products including Murfeys Wood Soap and Orange Degreaser along with letting it sit outside (covered) for weeks. However the fabric under-surfaces could not be cleaned in the same way. The odorzout helped a great deal with those areas. Enough so that we could bring it into the house. I turned the recliner upside down and used several applications. Can't say which worked more the Odorzout or repeatedly washing all the outside surfaces.
