Who Was Winston Churchill?

This line of books is a great way to get a good base knowledge of people that stood out in history. They definitely are easy reads maybe a fourth grade level I'm guessing but if you read it even as an adult you get a good basis and that will give you a desire or let you know that you don't want to go any further . I have every book in the series that I have seen and will continue to purchase if I find others that I do not have. They are beneficial for younger or older students.

Great book for kids to learn a little history. We are working on our sons reading skills and allow him to read a funny book and we drop in a historical book like this so he not only is working on reading skills but actually learning something about a person or event that was historic. This normally leads into questions on the event and we can do some additional research after.

Bought this for my daughter’s book report and it’s a great read. The Who Was series is a great series for ages 9-11 years old.

I liked this book because I like reading all of the war books and The Who was books. I would recommend this book to everyone in the world because it’s a good book of history. What I disliked about this book is when Winston died but that’s just apart of life though. What I did like about this book is I get to learn about history that is made.

This is an amazing book as it gives a condensed account of his life. I am 75 years old and was at the University of Nottingham studying for my Electrical Engineering Degree when he died. There was only B & W TV at my hall of residence and the room was packed with mourners, all of us.Ellen Labrecque has done a marvellous job.Thanks Ellen.

9-year-old nephew LOVES these books. And if you want a kid to learn real history these days, you have to find tools like this to teach them yourself. Recommended.

Very inspiring book for an adult but especially for a child.

Estou estudando inglês sozinha há dois anos, através de leitura de livros infantis. Esta coleção é ótima porque os textos são simplificados, mas o vocabulário é um pouco complexo e eu, mesmo sendo adulta, aprendo muito sobre as personalidades biografadas. Nível de inglês: pré-intermediário.

I was pleasantly surprised that my son found this book interesting. Read it in 1.5 hours. He told me that Churchill was buried at Blenheim Palace. That was something I didn't know!
