The Red Light Camera + Speed Camera in my area failed to get alerts, so it must not be in their database. Who do I call to get the database updated? Don't expect 4K video but you can easily identify license plates and even some faces. The cables are long enough for my south american Corolla. And if you want to watch what it recorded just put the SD card in your computer. It uses standard formats, and my Mac reads it with no issue. The only problem I have is that it only works with SD cards from Thinkware. And it only supports up to 64 GB. Also, if you live in a third-worlder country with bad roads (like me), it will beep every time you cross a bump, as if you had a crash. I have bought many cheaper dash cams but they only lasted 2 or 3 months and then they burned out. They were the ones you get at Wal Mart for $39. So after buying 5 of those I began to think that its because they sit in the heat day after day and maybe that has something to do with it. Thats when I found this unit and it even says it is set up for the high heat in the window. Yeah it is a lot more expensive but if this lasts 10 times longer than the junk I have been buying then it will pay for itself. I also got the rear view camera that is an awesome add on. I would definitely recommend that too because I have had people following way to close and if something were to happen, usually its their fault, but people can lie really good and will certainly will lie and having this is certainly a plus. All the extra stuff this camera has like lane departure warning, and many other stuff is cool but after you use it, it becomes more of a annoyance than useful. Its dinging ALL the time so I turned all the extra stuff off.
