Not great quality.
I used Teechino and liked it but it was too pricey so I thought I would give this a try. I assumed it was made of the same ingredients pretty much so I didn't look. I was disappointed to see it had corn in it which you could definitely taste. In this day and age of GMOs and corn everything I try and stay away as much as possible. These coffee alternatives do not taste like coffee so be prepared . Try going half and half first until you get used to it. Package says use less than regular coffee but I use more as I think it's weak.

Doesn't taste like coffee
I bought this and another product that is just chicory, with no other ingredients. Comparing the two, I would not recommend this to someone looking for a coffee substitute; plain chicory definitely has a better flavor. But if you just want a healthy drink, not specifically something coffeelike, it's not bad.

This is okay for a coffee substitute
This is okay for a coffee substitute, but not fabulous. I used to use Barley Cup and Cafix instant beverages, and decided to try this one. It's kind of good, but not fabulous. I'd say, if you want a coffee alternative, give it a try.

Though nothing beats a good cup of strong coffee
Though nothing beats a good cup of strong coffee, this product is working for me. I am trying to cut back on caffeine, and this tastes almost like coffee, and serves the purpose of waking me up in the morning. Currently I am mixing this with my coffee grounds, and weaning myself to straight "Almost Coffee". I have already ordered more.

Not even "almost" as far as I am concerned
Taste is so individual. I always find it interesting that some people say a product tastes "just like coffee" and others say it is as far from the taste of coffee as watermelon. I agree with the second group on this one. I tossed it, not because it was disgusting, but because I knew I'd never use it. I've spent a fortune trying every coffee substitute on Amazon in hopes of finding something that smells and tastes like coffee. There is nothing, and I generally use decaf, so it isn't the caffeine I crave. The only "coffee like" product I enjoy enough to keep ordering is the "molasses-y" taste of brewed chicory, which some people use as a coffee substitute or additive. My husband hates it - says it tastes like pepper. Pepper? I don't know what he's talking about. So, I realize that flavors are so complex that no one can know what another tastes in any given food or drink.

This stuff was no good. It didn't even taste close to coffee
This stuff was no good. It didn't even taste close to coffee. It wouldn't brew through drip filters it would just plug up and not drip through. After trying it twice I dumped the rest of the bag in the garden compost. I hope the worms are enjoying it.

(IMO) Doesnt taste like coffee at all!
I purchased this after reading all the glowing reviews. While I am perennially trying to cut my caffeine & coffee addiction in general, brewing 1/2 non-coffee products like this, and 1/2 decaf, I have to say I do not care for the overbearing flavor of this one,,,, IMO, NO WAY does it taste like coffee. I will not buy it again. I am grateful that there are always good attempts at putting out herbal, non-coffee products like this to help us coffee addicts, but this doesn't cut it for someone who likes the heavy flavor of Starbucks.Follow up: I wanted to use this up but had to put the rest of the bag in the freezer (for an emergency coffee substitute stash). I couldn't take the taste, and the way it (the grains) swell and clog my Melita filters. I tried to mix this in with my decaf coffee grains but the taste is too overbearing and ruins my coffee.
