stress reliever
Already had one of these for the roof window of my greenhouse, but often got busy and didn't get to open the back window and door on the space until it was already VERY HOT inside! Here in Arizona, a sunny day in winter could see the temps quickly rising to over 100! In the evening, the temmps drop dramatically when the sun goes down, and again, the heat was lost by the time I got out there to close the windows.Put one of these on the back window, so now both open automatically and what a great investment it has been! No more stressing over forgetting, regulating the temps of the greenhouse. It open, it closes. This last winter was the most productive I've had since getting the greenhouse. my seeds for spring planting did just fine - never getting too hot or too cold.ANDit handles the winds better than the dinky little window brace that came with the greenhouse. A change in weather here often has 30-50mph winds whipping through the back yard. It was one of those gusts that just ripped the back window open, destroying the plastic brace that held the silly little bracket piece. The opener is mounted midway up, centered well on the frame of the greenhouse and the window. It is strong enough to handle the winds we've had so far!Designed more for the roof vent, had to make some minor adjustments in mounting it on the back window as I have, but it was not difficult and just required a little bit of thought. The bottom line - am more than pleased with this purchase

Riga has got to engineer a better version of this
Riga has got to engineer a better version of this. Any strong wind when the windows are slightly open and the temperature hydraulic will bend. We also had one of the devices break apart when there was ice on the exterior but the interior warmed up enough to try to open the window. The icelock could not be broken by the hydraulic, but the flimsy aluminum arms were snapped. I have bought and installed six of these devices in a greenhouse with only 2 windows over the last year and a half. I now have restraints in place to keep the windows from opening all the way, which should help with the wind, but not the ice.

Installation
Um, I just received the box today from Amazon. Not a shred of instructions as to how to assemble, install, or set/calibrate the device. Not even a website given to go to find them. Nor are there any mounting screws included. I can probably find them on the internet somewhere, but this seems to be a inauspicious start.
