Works well to charge the phone and bypass the micro usb cord
I have had this for more than 6 months now so I figured I should write a review. Most important part, it fits the Xperia Z3, even with a case. (I have no idea about the Z3v, which is a completely different phone).Yes, it is pretty hard to get this thing lined up to charge, especially when doing it in the dark, but I think that may be more of a design flaw on Sonys part rather that the actual cord. That being said, the charger is excellent. It is very narrow where it attaches and does not have any extra plastic bulk on it. I have had 3 different slim phone cases and this charger worked with all of them.I did not have any of the magnet problems that others were complaining about. The magnet attaches nice and securely but obviously it has not pulled apart the magnetic charging port, otherwise I would be furious. I do detach the charging cord by rolling it side to side vs pulling it straight off the phone, so maybe that's why I have not had any problems with it.

Great Cable, Magnets Have Perfect Amount of Magnet Attraction
This is an awesome cable to have if you have any of the Xperia Z phones. It takes the fuss out of having to open the flap to access the microUSB charging port. It connects via the magnetic charging pins for the dock like a MagSafe charger. A lot of people are complaining that it's magnets are too strong. I DISAGREE whole-heartedly that it's too strong. These people have no idea what they're talking about. They must have never used a MacBook that had a MagSafe. The connector's strength is just right, it sits between the Xperia Z2's dock which is weak and a MagSafe which, when first used is really strong, I mean I can hold it about half a quarter of an inch away and it'll attract it. I have had no problems with using this cable, my Z2 charges quickly just like a quality microUSB cable. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to people. Be careful with cases though as even though my TPU case had a cut-out for the magnetic strip, it would not fit. Also, download "Set Orientation" since the phone will ignore your rotation settings if you're charging via the magnetic cable. Again, the magnets are not too strong and this cable works perfectly fine.

Better than expected !
I was surprised when I received this cable. I'm used to get cables, plugs, jacks, connectors and similar stuff loose in an air cushion envelope. Not this one!It comes packed like a high value item. In terms of environmental protection a little bit sketchy but nevertheless I felt flattered unpacking this cable: A semi-hard plastic box, a paper box inside containing a cloth bag, nicely closed by a lanyard.Oh yeah, there is still something left: the cable itself. It works perfectly and sticks firmly to the Xperia loading connector - as described by the seller. I drive an SUV on very rough terrain. The magnetic connector did not drop - not even once.So if you plan to buy a magnetic charging cable for your Xperia Z and start comparing, you'll find huge price differences. Don't hesitate to spend a few bucks more for this one. It's worth the money!

Pretty annoying and I wish the cord was going the ...
I used the cord (not the adapter) on my Z3 without a case.Pros:* It works. The magnet is strong and with a little moving it falls into place and it charges.Cons:* When you plug it in, the cord goes downwards towards the bottom of the phone. So when you hold your phone the cord is either touching your hand or you're tempted to grab the cord as well. Pretty annoying and I wish the cord was going the other way.* Sony doesn't make charging cables for their phones so they expect everyone to dock there phone and thus there are some unexpected (and in my case unwanted) behaviors:** When you answer a call it will automatically put it on speaker phone.** Even if you turn off auto rotate, it allows screen rotations.** I'm sure there are more, I just got my phone recently. There are no options to remove these either.Neutral:* I find the length of the cord pretty small, but perfect length for when I want to charge in my car

strong magnet, easy to use
I have an Xperia Z1S. It fits perfectly with my phone. The magnet is pretty strong, stronger than I expected based on all the reviews. It's also super easy to attach. I literally just put the magnet near the charging port and it attaches itself. I haven't had any trouble with having to place it correctly or else it wont charge. It also charges fully to 100% and at a good rate. The only downside may be that the length of the cable is only 3 feet long, so It doesn't reach far from the outlet, and the charger doesn't work with the two cases that I have for my phone. Neither of these are deal breakers. It gets the job done and is totally easy to use. Therefore, 5 stars.

The concept is great but this charger does not work
I have a T-Mobile Sony Z3 and this charger does not fit the phone correctly. It toggles on/off charging constantly and ultimately doesn't charge the phone. The concept is great but this charger does not work. Notably, I am returning my 2nd charger because I assumed that when the first charger didn't work, a manufacturing defect in the charger itself was the cause of the failure to work. As it turns out, it is a design flaw. The box that the charger is packaged with describes the "Magnector X Cable" as a magnetic charging cable "Designed for Sony Xperia Z Ultra & Xperia Z1". Nowhere on the box does it say that the charger will fit either a Sony Xperia Z2 or Z3 even though the seller describes this product to fit both. The depth dimensions of the different generations of Xperia phones is different and clearly it makes a difference as to whether or not this product will work.
