Great Camera But. ........
Great camera wonderful pictures. The photos are very clear and concise and it does a great job at focusing. I would have given it 5 stars but it does a pretty lousy job connecting through the Wi-Fi it won't stay connected so you might as well write off this feature as non-existent because it is essentially useless. But as for the rest of the camera is great. I think it is the best one of this type of camera. The only fault I have found it the wireless data transfer it is impossible to keep connected and the batteries usually will not last through the transfer so you have to open it up anyway you might as well pull the SD card and download from there and forget about the wireless transfer.Update. After 6 months I still love this camera. There are a few features that would make this the perfect On-The-Go camera. 1. Remote shutter control so you can take photos in places that can only be reached with a pole or selfie stick like deep in a rock crevasse or over a wall or inside a hollow log. 2. wireless charging so that you didn't have to access the battery compartment (which requires opening the watertight compartment.). 3. Figure out how to get the wireless data transfer to work. (then the watertight compartment would rarely need to be opened)

good pictures except close-ups. Just can't get it to focus on anything close.
If I didn't have to take so many close-ups it would probably be a great camara.

The quality of pictures are not good.
Works well inside water but not outside. The quality of pictures are not good.

Ok with issues
Gps works well but there are problems with the way it saves picture. It would only save about 300 picture on a 16GB card then began overwriting them without telling me when it ran out of space. Cost me a lot of time and $$$ on a job.

Water damage after 1 dive
Bought this for a beach vacation and it was working fine until I took it diving. It was taking pictures and videos underwater but after my dive I noticed moisture and water damage on the LCD panel. I am not new to diving with a camera and I read the manual so I was confident I didn't do anything wrong. I immediately contacted Nikon and they advised to remove battery and SD card and keep the battery door open. Their advice didn't work and it never returned to it's original condition. I was very disappointed as I didn't bring my other waterproof camera, thinking that a brand new Nikon would be okay to work with. I bought this primarily for its waterproof feature and it failed. Lost some money and un-captured memories in the process.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking
This is my second Nikon Coolpix waterproof camera. Is it waterproof? Well, it lasted months sitting on the bottom of a whitewater rapids section of a river in Wisconsin, and when it was finally retrieved, it fired right up with no loss of photos on the SD card. It takes beautiful pictures, particularly great landscape pics, people pics, and pics with the macro. The optical zoom leaves something to be desired, but it still stands its ground against most any other point and shoot camera around. As a wildlife biologist, I am tough on my equipment and need very hardy products. This camera withstands a beating, cold weather, being submersed, and still takes great photos. I'd recommend one of the bright colors too, as it is easier to see if you drop it outside (or at the bottom of a river).

Great value, easy to use, quick on the draw.
Great camera overall. Had no problems with water-tightness or with its being an international version. Would be nice to have more manual controls, but the camera offers many photo / scene options and is very quick on the draw. Great battery life, easy to use while scuba diving.

Do not buy
This is my second Nikon camera and I will never again buy a Nikon. I've had it a few years with little use. I'm not a big photographer, I just wanted a nice, durable camera for my travels. Took it to the beach for the second time last week and the screen went dead. It still took pictures but I couldnt see what I was aiming at, so they aren't very good and unfortunately this happened two days before the big snorkeling trip I had planned. Very upset. This is the 2nd of my Nikon cameras to stop working over some sort of stupid glitch and I don't feel I mistreat my cameras making it especially frustrating.
