Really attractive wall unit!
I purchased the one in Walnut. Very pleased. As everyone says, the outer box comes a little banged up, but the inner box securely holds the parts. I put this together with my daughter in a little over an hour. Picture instructions are easy if you set all the items out first and read it step by step. The quality is very good for the price, feels sturdy and holds exactly 150 DVDs & 146 VHS's. (3 kids and 25 years worth of collecting...lol) The doors slide easily & really give an upscale look to it. Despite my lengthy post, it truly is an easy, fun assembly with the right partner! :)Suggestions:*Line up your wood, matching yours, to their pictures..(look at placement of holes, etc so you have the correct side.)*2 people, (to stable the slats while the other handles the screwdriver & for lifting unit upright)* wood glue,(for the pegs to hold a bit more secure ) your own small Phillips screwdriver. (the one they include is just too small to grip and turn well.Make sure you match the longer screws to the side walls of the unit. If you look at the pics carefully , you can see how they are different from the others.*Make sure you put the wheels on the correct side of doors; meaning, look where the handle goes, so you don't put the wheels where the top door mounts go. :) (almost did that once b/c the cut outs in the wood are the same)*make sure arrows on screw locks are pointed in the direction facing the hole before you insert screw and push turn to lock securely.

Great piece of furniture!
I was a bit skeptical when other people said it was pretty difficult to put together, but it was actually quite simple putting it together by myself. Really only the part where the instructions say connect the upright pieces together before putting on the base I had to disassemble and reassemble each piece on the base because I didn't think I could lift and not break that assembled section. The instructions are only pictures and each individual piece isn't labeled "piece A, piece B, etc" but the drawings match the parts very closely. Other people have also said it takes 2+ hours to put it together and it probably took me 2 hours because I spent a half hour digging out a sliver out of my finger (the wood is a bit rough), and before I finished the last door I couldn't wait to get my dvds in it so did that before finishing. The doors are really simple to install. I would recommend either anchoring the unit to the wall or tipping it back if it's on carpet, just because it's fairly thin width and I worry about things tipping. Also some people said the non standard dvd cases sometimes don't fit, but I didnt have any problems getting some of the more larger cardboard cases in. Though I do admit there isn't a WHOLE lot of space between the dvds and the doors (maybe a half inch or so). The package did look horrible when it came (like the one side of the box was about opened and didn't look like it was sealed very well), but it is double boxed and the inside box was just fine. Oh, and there are plenty of shelves. I have mine set up for all dvds and I still have 9 shelves left in case I had put some cd rows in there too.Just be careful opening the inside box (the one that doesn't look like it when through a war zone), for one of the boxes I sliced my scissor through and scratched up one of the parts, but for that particular box the back brace that you don't see was placed on top, and even the side that ends up getting covered up was faced up, so it wasn't a problem that I accidentally sliced it.

A Precision Piece
This is a clean pure honest truthful review. I received this item about a month or so ago. I'm just nowputting it together, dreading to assemble it due to some reviews. First of all this cabinet went togetherwith perfect precision. When assembled, it came together flawlessly.I do agree with the reviews concerning the instructions. Don't expect very much in that area, it's closeto not having any at all. This is where your cognitive skills come in. THE PRODUCT THAT I RECEIVED, ISTHE ONE THAT I AM REVIEWING. It is sturdy and a very fine expensive piece of furniture, that serves itspurpose that it was built to do. It holds a little over 500 dvd's that fit perfectly in the shelves. The glass sliding doors function perfectly when the adjustments are made, after assembly is complete. There are no cracks, flaws or unevenness anywhere in this cabinet after the assembly and adjustmentsare complete. I am telling you the clean truth, I cannot say a bad thing about this cabinet. It arrived with the outer box torn to shreds. The inter box was not blemished. The parts of the cabinet werein pristine condition. All the pre-drilled holes were in precision alignment. Every screw, bolt handle, glass clipsand all hardware were there, not a single piece was missing. ( Nothing extra was included ). Make sure thatyou don't loose a wooden dowel, there are NO extra ones. All in all, this is one of the most finest items that I have ever ordered through the delivery system. This item, counting the labor and all, appears that it would sell for a least a 1,000 in a furniture store. If you seekinga cabinet that is functional and is very well made and adds elegance to your family room, at a very fairprice, this is it. People, when assembled properly this cabinet is a high quality piece of functional furniture.Right now, I WOULD NOT, take a thousand dollars for this cabinet. By the way, it's about a 2 hour assemblyjob with a helper...take this review sincerely, it was written sincerely. Best to you...
