Duragear DLX Pet Travel Hammock Slate 57"

When they say it has ever feature they are so right. I have been buying different hammocks since I got my dog Hannah in 2007, I got her to walk with me in local parks. So I needed something to cover my leather seats. The first one I bought at Petsmart and I think this is the same brand. It lasted quite a few years, after that I started just buying cheaper and you get what you pay for. The features they don't mention are the zipper has a clip to keep it from coming down ( a huge issue with any that have a zipper). A velcro strap to keep the seatbelt in place ( only the first one from Petsmart had this option ). Little pocket like things that you slide in the crack of the seats then push a dowel type thing in to hold the hammock down. Zippers on the slots for the center seat belts, most have velco or no access to the seatbelts at all. The pockets are really nice to put extra leashes and stuff in but I don't use them much. The fleece on the back side is really nice , helps keep the hammock in place too, a lot have sort of a rubberized backing which after a while starts to peel and you end up with little flecks of the stuff all over . The other side is a nice strong material. In my experience this is the best one I have had. And it is holding up well because now I have more dogs ( 3 total ) I take with me to the park daily.

Although my Great Dane pup is mild-mannered in the car, it's hard to say how effective it would be for an unruly pup that wanted to get in the front seat with you -- since I had one but did not have this hammock style then, I think this model might make it somewhat more difficult for a dog to get in the front seat -- definitely not impossible, however, but it might discourage him. I really like the hammock style because the dog can't slide off the seat and seems much safer for him. My pup loves stretching out on the seat and this hammock is perfect for that. It is made of super durable material -- which I think will last for years. I do, however, have to get additional straps to keep it in place a little better -- but that won't be difficult to do. On it's own it stays in place fairly well, but there is some slippage (could be because of my pup's size though). Also, mine did come with one broken clip so that may also be part of the problem. It does not, however, eliminate the fur getting on the seat 100%, but it is better than without a cover and it protects the fabric/leather from getting torn. I've had similar seat covers in the past, made of similar material and they did hold up -- but the straps were their weakest links; Duragear's, on the other hand, uses a much better strap/clip system than I have owned in the past so this is definitely an improvement -- plus, I really like the hammock style. I bought a second one for my other car -- so I do recommend this product.

We've had this now since last spring and it is much better than an earlier version we had. On the earlier version, the straps attached to the headrests soon tore loose. These seem much stronger, with better clips and adjustments. Also, this forms a reliable hammock when attached to the front seat headrests. There is a zipper down the middle that allows someone to sit in the back seat, but keep half the hammock up for the doggie. There are also pockets for things like a water bottle, but we never used it so dunno if it is practical. It is reversible, with soft fleece on one side and water-resistent nylon on the reverse. There are adjustable zips to facilitate access to back seeat seatbelts, etc. So far, it is worth the higher cost.

Well made car hammock but it didn't fit our PT Cruiser very well. This was my fault, not realizing there are no headrests on back seats to help hold the hammock in place.

I used this in the backseat of my bmw....otherwise hubby wouldn't let me take the dog in the car. I highly recommend buying this cover! It's great quality and lasts a long time!

Doesn't always stay connected and isn't as "sealed around the edges" as I hoped!

Awesome hammock! with the addition of her seatbelt, this is the perfect set up in my rogue!
