BURNED
Received typical flat seed packet containing only 31 of the promised 50 seeds. Over one week, none have germinated yet. Zoom in on this image to see that many of the seeds are in poor condition, owing to packaging and handling. Rhubarb seeds have 3 fragile lobes which require a container preventing any kind of compression which might fracture these lobes. It would also be nice if the supplier could count. But frankly, if I were selling "50" seeds, you'd probably get 100, to ensure at least 50 good starts. Anyway... owing to the bad count, this little experiment could never live up to expectations... but given zero germination on top of the mere 62% count... well... you get the picture.UPDATE, 20200825After more than two weeks, nine of the 31 seeds did marginally germinate: That is, in 9 of 31 cases, a white root stalk did emerge from the seed, but then ceased to grow further. Wanting to get something for the money, time, and effort, I transplanted these immediately to soil... with no sign yet that they're going to continue to grow. Will update any degree of success.BTW, I'm not a Rhubarb neophyte. I maintain over 100 very healthy and productive plants.

Only 30 seeds in packet
There were only 30 seeds in this packet. Not 50 as advertised. They are from Ukraine, with an English label stuck to the packet. I have just planted a dozen seeds indoors, for a fall planting in zone 9. Yes, you read that right... it's HOT! So, I have no idea how rhubarb will grow in this climate, so I am not able to comment on the seed quality until they have sprouted.

Did not even sprout. I planted them as soon as I got them and nothing as of yet.
The seeds were no good. They did not germinate or sprout. I planted them several few ago and still nothing.

Great germination!
The rhubarb seeds sprouted within a couple of days, and needed to be re-potted within a couple of weeks! Hardy and growing well.

Didn't grow
I rated this 2 starts simply because nothing grew, but it could have somewhat been my doing. It was my first year trying to grow rhubarb, so I am not positive I did it right. I did follow the directions on the seed packet though, so I don't think it was "user error". I probably will just try transplanting rhubarb instead of starting from seed in the future.
