A: No it does not have auto shutoff.  You cannot tell from the box or the manual (since the manual is generic and covers a large number of models).   I called the manufacturer.  They said if you cannot see a clock on the front of the coffee maker, then it won't have an auto shutoff.   I sent it back since I know I will often forget to shut it off.

**Q: Does this coffe maker have the possibility of putting in a permanent filter ?**
A: Yes, they have Mr Coffee Basket-Style Gold Tone Permanent Filters usually right next to these in stores, and as a suggested "frequently bought together" item here on amazon.

**Q: Does this model have an automatic shut off if left turned on?**
A: No, this coffee pot does not have an automatic shut off if left on.  It has to be turned off manually.  This can be a problem since it is easy to forget to shut it off.

Great, no-nonsense coffee maker! This is the coffee maker I've been looking for for years and I thought no longer existed. It's fairly easy to pour the water into without spilling it.
