Got this for a number of uses (scraping old paint, getting burned on stains off the oven door, helping remove the copious quantities of silicone sealant left by the over-zealous previous inhabitant etc).I've found it works incredibly well, better than the old scraper I used to own. The blade isn't excessively sharp, which was one of my concerns when I bought this. I didn't want to easily scratch anything or cut myself. I can only describe the sharpness by personal comparison; the blades are as sharp as an old unsharpened kitchen knife, sharp enough, but not razor sharp. The button which allows you to slide the blade in and out is secure, keeping the blade in place whilst in use.I like to compare my own experience with that of other reviewers, quite often there's some common ground. I do semi-agree with the one star reviewer who commented about the blades being difficult to change. I tried it just to see for myself and it's a little tricky, you need to use a tea towel really. Which is what I would do for blade changing on any product like this anyway. Just needs a little caution! Other than that, the blades and scraper come with a little black pouch and I haven't had any issue with blades flying everywhere. I keep the blades in the plastic bag inside the pouch with the scraper. Problem solved.I have tested this out for paint, silicone sealer, taking a label off a tub and an oven door which was really causing me grief to scrub. Perfect on all counts. Once you get the right angle it glides across, lifting whatever you're scraping off with it. Oven door is now clean, without the three hours of scrubbing with abrasive cleaners. I think you do need to exercise the same degree of caution that you would for any other scraper or knife to prevent self injury or scratching. It's so much easier than using a knife blade (recent voice of experience)!I think each blade should last quite a while, the more you use it, the more it seems to wear itself into a good scraping surface.

I purchase these for my business. Absolutely couldn’t do without one now. So much easier to clean away tiny marks on the windows or on oven hobs.The rubber grip an extra bonus so no slipping if wet with solution.

So a scraper should scrape, right? Well this doesn't.Initially I was impressed with the smoothness of the button that changes the blade length and the comfort of the scraper in my hand. Unfortunately those are the things that give this item 1 star.There are no instructions with the scraper so it took us a while to work out that the blade needs to be pushed out with a pokey implement to change the blade, so that doesn't feel particularly safe. And it was quite stressful with (presumably) a sharp blade already located experimenting with how to remove it. The replacement blades need to come in a box ideally as these flew everywhere (twice) when I opened the package and when I dropped them. Given that they are in a greaseproof type of paper wrapping they slip everywhere.However, on trying to use this thing it just doesn't work. I have bought it as a replacement for one that I've had for years. The old one with the very blunt blade works so much better. This one just seems to stop on what I'm scraping rather than making a proper level contact with it and then removing the gubbins (paint in this case). I've given up and I'm sending it back. I have better things to do with my time than try to make an £8+ scraper try to work.

Was looking for a ceramic hob scraper that was robust and easy to hold. I have difficulty gripping small objects and this fits the bill perfectly. Comes with a load of spare blades.As well as using to clean the hob it’s great for cleaning sticky label residue from glass.I like that it’s retractable too, so no danger of accidents when taking out of the drawer.I recommend this product highly

Perfect because of the wide blade (and plenty of spares came with it) for scraping off residue/stickers. . I gave it 4* because no clear instructions on how to change the blade.

Purchased this to clean the inside of the oven door and to scrape paint overspill on glass over the upside room doors. It took me a while to do the oven, but the paint overspill job was done very quickly and without any drama whatsoever. Excellent value for money and well worth having for any future similar jobs.

Already earnt its money for me as I mainly bought it to scrape away the remaining burnt on spots on my recently cleaned oven door. Comfortable to hold. Some to useNot had to change a blade yet so can't comment but I can see how it's done, looks fairly simple. Plenty of blades to keep it in use for a long time.

This is amazing! I’ve tried loads of stuff on my old oven door, you could barely see through the glass. The really strong oven cleaner has to be left on for hours and it’s disgusting stuff but just a few minutes scraping had my oven door pristine, AND not a single scratch on the glass either!
