Feels Like Fingernails Buffalo Horn Back Scratcher

UPDATE: A few months back I accidently dropped it on the floor (soft tiles over cement foundation) and the buffalo horn broke into 4-5 pieces ...so its fragile, don't drop it like I did if you can help it!! In any case, I had collected all the pieces I could find, I almost threw it out but decided to try and super glue it back together; so I just glued it and so far so good (pic attached). only 2 minor micro pieces I could not find to glue back in. (I used gorilla clear super glue)Right after I had broke it I went online and immediately ordered another, so now I have 2. But they are different: The first one I ordered was light bone color beautiful dark thinner handle w/ wider less teeth (5 teeth), the second is black bone with wider thicker handle handle with natural color, bone also looks a bit thinner and it is more curved with less wide teeth and has more teeth (6 teeth). Have not used the black one yet...will update when I do if it doesn't work as good. But for now I am kinda liking that they are slightly different from each other.My cat still loves it, and as soon as she saw me bring it out (after 2 months of not seeing it) to glue it ,she wanted me to scratch her with it; of course she had to wait for me to glue it and for the glue to set, but she was real happy when I finally scratched her back with it. You think she would forget but no she loves this back scratcher better than her brushes-she recognized it right away, so I have to share with her.First review: Packaged very well and received faster than expected. What caused me to purchase was a review that said it felt like fingernails, and it really does. This scratcher gives that same satisfying itch relief like fingernails do. The handle is very smooth and comfortable. I also tried it on my cat and she loved it. It is exactly as the customer pic, cream scratch part; not black as in the amazon pic. I like the cream bone look better. I tried it on my cat as a joke, but now I see I have to share it with her as she prefers it over her cat brushes.

I was a bit skeptical that this would be noticeably better than the generic wood or bamboo scratchers of similar design, but it really is. Just the right amount of flexibility, but also allows you to scratch harder when you need it without feeling like you're scraping the skin off. Mine has an imperfection that looks like a crack near the top. I expected it to split, but it apparently hasn't affected the sturdiness after several weeks of almost daily use.Note that the color can vary quite a bit. Mine is much lighter in color at the end. I was disappointed at first, since I liked the photo here, but it has grown on me.The construction looks a bit rough, but I don't have any concerns about durability. I'm not trying to impress the neighbors with it, so no stars taken off just for that, but could be something to keep in mind if you're getting it as a gift for someone who might care.If I could make any improvement, it would be to add two inches to the length. It's sufficient to reach my entire back, but I'd have a little more leverage if I had more to grab. I imagine it won't negatively affect anyone under 6 feet tall.

Best back scratcher!There's nothing like finger nails but I do believe this comes pretty close to the real thing. I actually like this one more than fingernails at times ... because you can hold it yourself and go right to the itch!! No need to say "right right, too far. Left." You can go right to your itch the first time and ahhhhhhh... Feels great. I love it!It's no joke and you can cut yourself if you're not careful, I'm pretty sure. I've been careful and it feels great. Used it for a month, and I'd absolutely buy it again.It also comes with a sturdy box which I keep mine in. It also comes with a nail file to sharpen or smooth.I highly recommend!

The scratching head really is the best, and you can tailor it to your needs, sharper or duller.The handle, however, is way too short, unless you are really small. I am five foot ten inches. When I lay this thing on my arm with one end at the tip of my index finger the other end is three inches short of my elbow, which is five or six inches short of optimal length for someone my height. If you are three or more inches shorter than I an then perhaps this would work fine for you. But if you are my height or taller....not so much.I solved this with the handle of an old shower brush that I married to this scratcher with duct tape. Its not pretty looking, but it works, and who cares about pretty when no one uses a backscratcher in public anyway?But it's a pity none of the back scratcher makers offer more than one size handle, at least as far as I know. Lost marketing opportunity. I mean we don't all wear one size shoe, do we?Bottom line: it is by far the best scratcher head of all, but the handle is too short if you are five ten or taller. BUT if you are willing and able to Macgyver a longer handle...it delivers a truly great scratch.
