Get the book
So far I have ordered several perfect phrases books and they have always done what I needed them for. I do think the books should suggest relaxing and still trying to be comfortable in delivering these lines. Just get it to flow but still a very useful book.

Break The Iceberg
Great reference book for any personal or professional development library, especially if you are a leader. Definitely loaded with perfect phrases to suit most situations. Appreciate the diamond and movie clapper symbols throughout. The appendix provides great ideas for phrases to find partners and form groups.

Reference Book of Conversation Starters
I was expecting a book with networking phrases. However as a meeting facilitator and team trainer, I found Runion and Windingland's "Perfect Phrases for Icebreakers" full of interesting starters for multiple projects in sections 1 and 2. I also felt section 3 of this book would be especially helpful for human resource professionals, sales people, and new supervisors since it covers key topics like: interviewing, new hire orientation, co-workers at various levels, as well as suppliers and customers. Helpful suggestions for networking events and one-on-ones with new people were finally covered in sections 4 and 5. Section 5 also had icebreaker and opening ideas for various types of work meetings such as: regular staff, intermittent, budget, strategic, and team start-up.After reading though this book and marking several pages, I decided this book would make a great reference on anyone's bookshelf. Why? Because readers can just check the table of contents to find the situation closest to what they will be encountering and then look for phrases they feel can be adapted to their current need. On the last page of the introduction to the book, the authors include three questions to ask when reviewing a phrase for potential use. Asking these questions will help the reader to customize the selected phrase to be their own personal conversation starter.

Will not Refund
I purchased a book from them a month ago and it was not described exactly as said on the product description. I sent over a return request as soon as I got the book in the mail and took it out, as I flicked through the entire book to to scan a few chapters, to see what I would be getting ready to read, I realize after about the 2 chapter going forward, was not what the books description really was, it was more of for a person that does group meetings, rather than just for one personal learning. I sent over an email and they sent me back an email telling me I had to buy something else and If I ordered the book and it was the right book then, it was actually my fault. I got in touch with Amazon and they sent an email telling me that that was indeed their policy, however they would be willing to settle the claim in good business and refund the book anyways. I sent the book back 2 week ago and have not received a refund yet. I believe they are foriengners, so they really don't understand ENGLISH and how to be GOOD BUSINESS! You keep my book that you ask me to return for a refund, This is BAD BUSINESS, you have been warned people, I would not do business with these people again.

Great suggestions for starting conversations the right way
Finding the right words can be a challenge. "Perfect Phrases" shares literally hundreds of ways to start meetings, conversations, and discussions. They are organized by who you are conversing with, what the conversation is about, where you are having the discussion and what you're trying to accomplish. Some people might say...really?! A book of phrases?! Is this necessary?! And until I read the book, I might have agreed with them. But while I was reading the book, I found myself thinking of the manager trying to start a coaching conversation with one of their employees and struggling for the right words to say.I also found myself thinking of the new consultant trying to strike up conversations with potential clients at networking meetings. Or the job seeker attempting to engage in conversation with a recruiter. I thought of the trainers and facilitators looking for great questions to involve participants during sessions. And the business pro who hates attending conferences alone and would love to find a comfortable way to chat with another attendee. We all have moments when we're looking for a better way to say something. I found "Perfect Phrases" to offer some good suggestions and raise excellent points about the importance of starting conversations off properly.

Practical, Simple, To The Point
Perfect Phrases For Icebreakers is a gem. Situational, adaptable and usable, this book is more than a read, it is a resource. In working as a professional speaker and sales coach, I preach to build relationships, you must be able to really get to know your client. Sometimes the toughest part of relationship building is STARTING the conversation. Kudos!

Don't Buy This... Find Another Phrase Book!
This book was awful. I was expecting smart phrases that I could use to establish expectations on my first day of work. This book was geared toward teaching very basic social skills and it might actually make a conversation awkward if I had tried to say some of this stuff. It might be useful to you if you have literally no idea what to say in most situations. I got rid of it pretty quickly after I bought it and I'm still looking for a helpful phrase book.

Useful ideas and direction for conversations in the office and work environment
As someone who is occasionally anxious in work conversation situations, I found this surprisingly good given the other reviews. I have a few of these "Perfect Phrases" books, and - in the context of office work and office scenarios - I found the phrases and suggested direction to be both useful and relevant. In fact I found it more useful and "on point" than other books in the range, although I find them all to be good solid reference material, providing ideas at the very least (even if all the phrases aren't 100% usable - which imo is too much to expect from books like this).Looking quite forward to putting some of these into use. I would point out this book appears most relevant to office-type work, and maybe team leader positions - less so other types of work. The product page has an option to "Look Inside", so if you are unsure I would suggest taking a look at the index to see the content.
