Extremely useful & usable seat-stick, but make sure you buy the right size
I bought my stick in February following spine surgery. My purpose was to enable me to rest easily when trying to walk. Being 173cm in height both the 850 and the 880 should have been ok so I opted for an 850mm. Because I had cause to replace mine (more below) I asked for mine to be replaced with an 880mm and I wish I'd bought this size originally. So if you are around my height, go for the 880mm.The stick and seat are generally well made, but there is a weak point to watch which I shall come to. The seat folds up in a nice smooth action, and deploys very easily. The mechanism is reliable and sturdier than one may think if sited correctly. NB: You CANNOT lean back on these seats, they are designed for the handle to be in front of you, not used as a back rest (in case you were wondering). As such, you deploy, and sit astride the seat with the handle between the legs enabling you to take the weight off of (in my case the spine) your joints. I found it invaluable in my early stages of recovery due to being so lightweight, and having a mono leg for the walking stick support. Now for the only drawback. The locking and release mechanism is a good design, but where it latches to lock is thinner than it could be. As this is made from the moulded plastic one has to make sure you follow the instructions and take care when deploying and locking the mechanism as the plastic can fail. With that said though I would not let that deter anyone from buying one as it is not a common failure, and is more something to be aware of than concerned about.Overall, I have no problem recommending this stick as a walking aid for those who need to rest periodically, or who struggle to stand in queues.
