Masala chai ("spiced tea") is a beverage from the Indian subcontinent made by brewing tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs. The added ginger and other spices give the Rooibos tea a warm and spicy taste. Great for cold evenings with milk and honey but loved by many at any time of the day. The Story of Rooibos It was the local people who first discovered that the fine, needle-like leaves of the wild Aspalathus Linearis plant made a tasty, aromatic tea. Found nowhere else in the world but the northern Cederberg region in the Western Cape, Rooibos became a staple of health and culture for the aboriginal peoples of South Africa. Why is Fair Trade Important? Unfortunately, as Rooibos became popular with the white settlers in the 1800's, the native farmers were pushed off their lands and endured over a century of oppression. Rooibos became cultivated on vast plantations and exported throughout the world. Still today over 98% of all Rooibos is plantation-grown. If your Rooibos doesn't say Fair Trade then think again about buying it. The Wupperthal Difference In 1998 against all odds, Wupperthal Original Rooibos Cooperative was established. Wupperthal is a democratically organized group of small-scale farmers who have grown Rooibos in South Africa for generations. The Wupperthal farmers, having been pushed off the most fertile land in the 1800's, now grow food in the very dry, rocky soil of the Cederberg Mountains which presents a big challenge for most of their crops. With Rooibos, however, the slower growth and lower production has resulted in notably higher quality tea compared to plantation Rooibos. Wupperthal Rooibos tea is known throughout the industry for its superior taste and quality. And it's guilt-free!

Lacks Chai Flavor
It's a good quality rooibos tea, but it doesn't taste anything like chai. This tea tastes like pure rooibos tea with none of the chai spices that they have listed in the ingredients. Very disappointed, and not what I was expecting at all. I've had other brands of rooibos chai tea and this one doesn't compare. If you're looking for a tea with that distinct chai spiciness and flavor, keep on looking.

Yum, yum yum!!
I eat a low carb/ketogenic diet and often use keto chow (low carb, moderate protein and high fat) shakes as a meal replacement when I'm not feeling up to cooking-especially since I'm the only one eating this way in my house, it's just simpler. Anyway.. the keto chow powder is mixed with whipping cream, coconut oil and water to make a shake. I've been wishing for a way to put some more flavor into my shakes and when I was offered this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review, I knew I had stumbled upon a solution! Why add water when I can add flavorful chai tea?! Oh my gosh, I LOVE my shakes now! Thank you for helping me stick to my keto plan in such a delicious way! And the fact that this is organic is a weight off my mind- I sotpped buying non-organic teas in a bag because of the nasty stuff that ends up being used in the bag itself. Organic teas eliminate that problem, yay! My husband has been enjoying iced chai tea since I received this- I whip up a big batch and put it in the fridge so we can both just easily pour the tea out and add our own milk.cream, keto chow, etc.

Relieves period cramps
Good flavor. I love it! Rooibos is good for health the additions of chai spices including ginger make it even more beneficial. The tea tastes much cleaner than other non organic brands. A cup of hot tea instantly soothes the stomach during menstrual cramps.

Great fair trade tea.
This is perfect with a bit of vanilla stevia. I've been steeping two bags in a half full 24 oz mug and then filling with ice. Very refreshing. I seek out fair trade items, so I was pleased to try this. I wish there was some gluten free assurance due to my sensitivity, but so far so good.

Will taste great with a little honey added.
I received this item at a discount for my honest review.Its a very good tea. Rooibos is known to help with seasonal allergies, and one of the reasons I use it. The taste is subtle, not astringent on the tongue like some other teas.Being organic is HUGE plus to make me buy this again. I think it will taste great with a little honey added.
