It is more durable than the standard type. I don’t think it would stand up to pet paws for a long time. I would suggest pet screen or a metal type of screen panel to cover the openings. **Q: 1/2"Γ—1/2" plastic heavy wire?** A: This is not heavy wire - it is a more durable screening material made for larger openings - I used it to custom make screens that are approx. 6' x 13' - worked great! **Q: can it be used on aporch for mosquito protection** A: Yes, very tight weave. **Q: What is the color and thickness of this screen?** A: We have used both black and a gray. This has been used on two heavily used screen porches and not a problem. The fiber is thicker than regular screen but does not interfere with vision.
