Great Rowing Machine for Entry Level Rowers
I wanted to wait about a month before reviewing my new rowing machine, just to make sure that I really got used to it. It's been a month and... I LOVE IT. I broke one of my ankles last fall and have experienced knee pain in both knees for the past year, but find that I can get a great aerobic workout despite those issues. I have actually lost 13 pounds in the past month with rowing as my main exercise.Pros: The seat is comfortable and glides smoothly. The machine is fairly quiet, depending on how fast you row. The construction of the rower seems very solid - it's sturdy with a heavy base. It's affordable, for what you get. I mean, if you're willing to pay an arm and a leg for an iPhone, you might as well pay a little more for a great piece of exercise equipment. I just couldn't afford the higher end WaterRower brand erg machines, and wasn't interested in the ones with the fans. But, I ramble. Back to the pros... What's especially great for new rowers is that you can fill it with greater amounts of water as you improve to increase the resistance against your rows. I like this much more than using resistance controlled by a knob, such as in the Concept2, because of the sound of the water. It's soothing. Anyway, I can row faster if I want a tougher workout.Cons: The foot straps were a little short for my dear husband's blocky feet, so I had to sew a new pair. His feet are HUGE, though. I didn't try to contact the company, so I don't know whether or not they would have had a solution for us. I don't love the monitor. It's okay. It provides the basic information. I just don't like the flat buttons. That's weird nitpicking, and is just an aesthetic thing for me.Other Stuff to Know: It came shipped in basically four parts: the section with the water turbine, the rail, the seat and the monitor. I didn't think that it was too hard to put together, and they provide all of the tools that you need. It took me maybe an hour. Also, it shipped very quickly. It came way ahead of schedule.

Great machine
I wanted a rowing machine that had water resistance but couldn't bring myself to spend $1500. For the price this machine is great! Seat is comfortable and the machine glides smoothly. Also it is easy to tip up right and roll into a corner.

Slow Rowing Due To Lousy Foot Pedals and Straps!!
Like the rowing action, but the straps to hold you feet in place are total crap!!!! Alway have to stop and readjust.

Not really worth the money
I have a waterrower and picked up one of these at a steal used, so I figured I would try it out.Good:very comfortable seatthe pivoting foot plates are great, I really wish the waterrower used theselightweightBad:doesn't offer as much resistance as the waterrower at any level, when filled to the max recommended this is still pretty use to usemonitor is garbage and not calibrated - I can row 500m in 30 seconds on this rower.front end comes off the ground when you pull hardthe bungee cord snapped, but my unit was usedFor the price, I would look at some other brands.
