I have sensitive asthma and when we had outside renovation done on our home, didn’t realize the fumes from the new materials would trigger it something fierce. I struggled for months and had to keep the windows open, triggering my already raging allergies. Installed this filter and voila! Could breathe the next morning. I don’t know what VOCs were causing the issue but I highly recommend it. Even my local heating & air guy didn’t mention this kind of filter. Read about it in filter reviews on Amazon. Highly recommend this or similar type if you have allergies/asthma and a reaction to VOCs. We have smaller air cleaners with HEPA filters running in the bedrooms as this is not a HEPA filter. WELL worth the cost. Planning to replace it every siz months.

This filter is quite effective for a month or two. By 6 months, odors may be lingering for longer than they do with standard filters. After replacement, the house smells pleasant again. It must fight against one of the worst new home requirements ever, that of forcing air from the outside 24 hours a day, regardless of skunks, those that park in front of our house leaving the engine running for as much as 30 minutes before driving off, the smoke from a nearby garden center, etc., let alone when it is much too hot or cold. The price is exceedingly high to have to replace much more often than a standard filter. Four stars because it works at least for a while and therefore, I'll buy it again.

Easy to install

This charcoal-upgraded filter improves pollen and household odors much more than my usual 212 version. I'm pleased to have found this.

Expensive but you get what you pay for. After 12 months house began smelling musty and I knew it was time to replace the filter. Purchased a new one, left the fan running continuously for a couple of days and the house smells fresh again!
