MG Chemicals Desoldering Braid #4 Fine Braid Super Wick with RMA Flux, 25' Length x 0.1" Width, Blue

Well I'm thoroughly disappointed with my most recent purchase of this. I bought this longer roll a while back to ensure I didn't run out when the shorter roll finished. It was amazing and allowed clean desoldering of a joint in 3-4 seconds, but now, using the same iron at the same temperature, the flux on the longer roll seems to be burning and leaving a nasty black residue. I usually solder through hole components at 380 degrees C with leaded solder, but even with the iron at 350, the flux is still burning. Has anybody else had this issue?

Really good. The smaller reels encourage you to be a bit stingy in using this stuff, but when you get a decent length like this then you can afford to discard the used parts before they cause problems when desoldering.This product is pre-fluxed too so is less messy than cheaper alternative.I'll be buying the 1.5mm reel too as this 2.5mm is wasted on small jobs.

Made in Japan and actually absorbing solder like a sponge. Will buy again.

Good price. Plenty on the reel. Works fine with leaded solder which is what use exclusively for amplifier repairs. Cannot get on with that horrible lead free stuff.
