Soulfly - The Song Remains Insane

This is an excellent dvd with a wide range of studio footage,interviews with Max through various years all the way from when the band started to when this was released around the time after Prophecy was released. There is about 11 live songs included in the feature and in the bonus section. You also get a video from each album(Bleed,Back to the Primitive,Seek N' Strike & Prophecy) The live tracks are from various places but all recorded well with great sound and great video that is pro-shot & the songs include Prophecy,Eye for an Eye,Living Sacrifice,Bring It,Refuse/Resist,Execution Style,Seek N' Strike,Roots then 3 bonus live songs at Dynamo Fest and those songs are Attitude,First Commandment and No Hope=No Fear. All the live tracks are killer,the music videos are all uncensored and the live footage sounds great. Max talks about various stuff from when Sepultura started to recording the first Soulfly album,they show them recording in the studio and recording the track Moses which was cool. He talks about Dana and his death,Brazil, his family and friends. He talks about the lineup changes from Soulfly 1 to Soulfly 4(Prophecy) The coolest thing is you can choose to watch the whole thing as 1 with interviews then live footage then more interview & studio time then videos back and forth. Or you can choose to watch just the live footage as 1 or you can watch just the videos or you can watch just the interview footage. There is a bonus audio track that was unreleased and it is pretty cool. There is plenty of cool stuff here,live songs,tribal drums live,4 videos and a bunch of informative stuff about the band. If you are a fan of Max Cavalera or are a fan of Soulfly or even new to the band i suggest you pick it up. I just got mine today and it only cost 4 bucks. If you want to see some good live songs that are old and classics as well as some informative interviews here is the dvd for you.

I am a collector of concert metal dvds, and i must say this is by far one of the best dvd's i own. it has everything, a very good documentary nariated by Max himself. a good look at concerts and off stage of whats happening with soulfly. very good live performancec from different parts of the world and time frames, from the begining to the current state of Soulfly. While Sepultura is going down soulfly is trully flying. i listend to sepultura since arise album so i know what im talking about. buy this dvd if u are a fan of soulfly. you wount be dissapointed. believe you me :)

First off, I don't know what this guy is talking about - "this dvd should be called the song sucks balls", if anything, you sucks balls guy!! Now on to more important things, this dvd is off the hook!! for anyone who's been a true Max fan from the Sep days, you know exactly what i mean! I feel Max & his music just grows stronger each day. This dvd captures EVERYTHING Soulfly is all about, music, friends, family, & fans!! If possible, i'd rate this dvd much higher then a 5, it deserves more like a 1,000!!! To sum it all up, BUY THIS DVD!! you won't be disappointed at all. O.G. Sep fans & Soulfly fans all around the world, PEACE & MUCH RESPECT!!

For all the fans of Soulfly this DVD is a must have, pretty good selection of live performances (it would be great if they have included more)good information from birth of Soulfly to Prophecy.Go and buy this DVD!!!!

Great live footage of Soulfly across the globe. Many interviews with Max, covering the Sepultura years through Prophecy. All the Soulfly videos and in the studio for Prophecy. Great for the Soulfly fan, very thorough. Will not disappoint. German boy is wrong!

Soulfly's DVD The Song Remains Insane from 2005 is a pretty strong release; consisting of all the bands music videos, assorted live footage from various sources, an entire concert and a fantastic documentary about the band.The music videos are nice to have, but not what anyone would buy this for and the assorted live footage (featuring a cameo apperance from Biohazard during a tribal drum solo) is a great addition which contains host of songs not in the main concert and a DVD-highlight where Chino Marino joins the band on stage to perform `Pain,' from the band's `Primitive,' album.The main concert is well filmed, but unfortunately the sound is out of synch with the video and it is therfore pretty annoying, but if you just listen to it in the background the concert is still fantastic, this out of synch problem is a pretty large disappointment for the real meat of the DVD. If you want a full length pro shot Soulfly concert from the Prophecy era that is properly synched, one is available with Digpak editions of the band's sixth album Conquer.Thankfully this DVD is saved by an excellent Documentary, which is informative, interesting and well edited. The DVD is still a real good buy at the price, and would be worth five stars if the audio in the main concert was in synch with the video.Even with that flaw in the main feature, the collection of music videos, a great documentary and the other excellent (and in synch) live material are well worth the interest of Soulfly fans. It may not wholly stand up visually to modern metal DVDs but is still worth exploration for fans.

大人気マックスカバレラ率いるSOULFLYの初の映像作品！アマゾンではリージョン１となっていますが、リージョンフリーです。僕のプレイヤーとＰＣで見れましたし、安心だと思います。全ＰＶとライブが１０曲、インタビューなど、内容はとても豊富です！しかしながら、ライブＤＶＤというほど曲数が多いわけでもなく、ＰＶ集としても、ＰＶは４曲分しか作られていないうえ、ロードランナーのＰＶ詰め合わせＤＶＤなどで、すでに見飽き気味なので、なんとも・・・なぜ、マックス系の映像作品はちょっと中途半端なのでしょうか・・・セパルトラの最初のライブビデオはよかったのですが・・・否定的な意見が先にきてしまいましたが、見所は多いです！インタビューシーンにて、マックスの父親としての顔を垣間見れたり、息子に「どこの国がお気に入り？」とたずねると「日本」と答えていたり＾＾もちろんライブは迫力満点で楽しめます！この値段でこのボリュームはお買い得ですが、ちょっと中途半端ってことで星４つ！
