AMAZING and so ahead of it's time
These guys were great and this album is amazing. Outlaw without a gun is one of the best songs ever. Sad these guys didn't get commercially successful.........

they were great
I saw the Revelons at CBs! They were great, always. The lead singer/guitar player was also a bartender there. I think that had something to do with their ability to fill in when other bands canceled. I didn't see, but wished I had, their one time gig with half of Television - they called themselves Telethon for that one. Also of note: The Nomads, the great punk rock group from Sweden, did "The Way You Touch My Hand" on their compilation double CD. When I heard it, a few years ago, after finding about the Hives and looking for other Swedish bands, I thought, "Wait, I know that song!" Hail 1979! Thank you Gregory Lee Pickard!

Unknown Legends
The little-known Revelons were contemporaries of Television, The Ramones, and Blondie. They drew crowds in all the hip NYC clubs, but never got the proper record deal they deserved. They have the gritty, apolitical pop-punk sound you'd associate with that whole CBGB scene of the late seventies. Fans of The Strokes, The Cars, The Shoes, Patti Smith Group, and Talking Heads should check these guys out. I'm glad I did.
