Great! USB-C hub
I use this device on my Mac Pro. Works very well. I would recommend it for any device with dedicated USB C that needs the additional standard ports.

Distorted picture, borderline unusable
See picture- unless the hub is in the perfect position, HDMI output looks like that. Once you get it so the pictures not distorted, can't move laptop at all or it goes right back to this. You get what you pay for.

I am just a little disappointed
Okay, let's jump right in and talk about the good and the bad with this LINKWIN multi-display adapter. I am a tech nerd and I love testing things and giving reviews. If you want to check out some of my other reviews, head over to my YouTube channel "OndaWire" and/or on Facebook where I test and review a lot of things tech!NOW here are the pros and cons and at the bottom, you will see what and why my ratings are what they are.The Pros:1. This is not a cheap plastic cover but actually an aluminum cover which is a lot better than plastic and not as heavy as metal.2. It does have two 3.0 USB ports which are faster than 2.03. It has a VGA and an HDMI option which is super nice! This allows you the ability to use this with projectors, older monitors, etc.4. The 4k display is really good through the HDMI port "IF" you are using a High-Quality ULTRA HIGH-SPEED HDMI 3.1 gold tip cable. A cheap HDMI cable is not meant for 4k on any device, so make sure you are using a quality HDMI cable to get the best quality picture.4. It is small and could easily fit in you pocket or purse.CONS:1. It comes in a white box with no instructions or anything that talks about the product.2. Even though it has the VGA and HDMI port, you can only use one port at a time and the HDMI port overrides the VGA port if you plug both up at the same time. I have two monitors and that was kind of a bummer. I guess I should have read all of the fine print instead of just looking at the pictures posted by the company showing both plugged in. That of the face of it led me to believe you could connect 2 additional monitors.3. You can only use 1 card reader at a time.4. No matter what I tried, this LINKWIN will not connect to the internet using the ethernet port. The lights by the ethernet port do light up as if it's working properly, but when I plug the ethernet cord in, it just will not connect and keeps giving me the "no internet" display. Over the course of the week that I've had this, I tried automatic connection, manually inputting my IP address and rebooting my MacBook Pro 2018 several times and it still will not connect. Now before you say, oh maybe it's a Mac issue, I also have a "Windows" based PC and I am still having the same issue with that one too. Really baffling. Now the description does say "Compatible for MacBook Pro but "maybe" and just maybe it's not working with the MacPro 2018 15inch because "maybe" the adapter is not Thunderbolt 3. I am just guessing that to be a "possible" issue, but I really don't know. Now here's what's odd about it. I have 3 other brand USB-C multiport adapters and when I plug them up, they all immediately connect to the internet via ethernet with no issues. Oddest thing seriously.5. On a heat level, I MUST say this adapter does get hot after 20 minutes of being plugged in. It got even hotter when I plugged my USB-C charging cable into it. I definitely didn't like that.Okay so with everything I posted in this review, I will transparently say if I was only using one extra monitor this could possibly work for that, especially since it comes with VGA and HDMI options which are nice, but I use 2 monitors so this will not work for me. Also, I was REALLY disappointed that the ethernet port would not work. I tried countless times over the course of a week, and nothing. After it's all said and done, I wanted to love it, but instead ended up disappointed. I am giving it a generous 2-star rating out of 5.

It has options but you can't use but a couple at a time.
I thought this would be a dock that I could use while I was working at home that didn't break the bank. It has options for all my devices that I would use and it seems to be well made. That's about all the good that I can say about it though. It has a an HDMI port and a VGA port but only one will work at a time. It has an ethernet port but it will not work if a monitor is plugged in. It has two USB 3.0 ports but only one of them will work with a monitor attached at the same time. The only reason that I am rating this at 3 stars is because I'm getting out of it what I needed it for. I wanted it so I could hook up two external displays to my laptop. I thought I would be able to plug both of them into this hub but that didn't work out. I have one monitor plugged into the HDMI port on my laptop and the other monitor plugged into the HDMI port on the hub. It does what I need but I really can't recommend this product to anyone.

Nice construction, versatile, cable seems fragile
My employer recently upgraded my laptop after too many years, and as a result, I ended up with far too few ports than I needed to maintain my setup. After researching multiple solutions, I determined this was a well-rounded accessory that would meet my current needs, while likely remaining relevant for years to come. Functionally I haven't been disappointed, and I only have a single design concern. My setup included an older monitor that only supported a VGA connection, which the device solved, allowing video via USB-C, then converted to VGA output. It also supports HDMI, but you can't use both simultaneously. The new laptop also only featured two standard USB 3.0 outputs, and a single USB-C output. Without this device, connecting peripherals became a real challenge. This device easily solved that problem, allowing me to use its additional USB ports for the occasional device, or when something needed to be charged. While it features some ports that I may not currently use, this is where I stress it has the potential to remain relevant and valuable for years to come. It features a traditional LAN/CAT output and memory card readers, and as technology progresses, these features are slowly being removed from new devices. In a couple of years, this little accessory could prove quite valuable.I like the metal case design. In my setup, this just gets connected to a USB-C port, and I forget about it. I'm not really moving it around. That said, the cable is a bit short, and it's quite stiff, and doesn't seem very well reinforced at its terminal points. So if you're moving this around, using it while you travel, or taking it often to and from work, the cable might end up being its weakest point. I personally treat this with extremely care, because my experience tells me this cable will eventually be a problem if I don't.Using it for VGA and some USB connections does cause it to be warm to the touch, but never hot.Windows 10 recognized this without any additional drivers or setup required.Overall, I'm quite pleased as it solved my problems, with my only concern being the cable.

From great to disappointed!
Worked great the first few weeks! Now the unit is not recognized by my laptops. Keeps showing up as unrecognized device. Need for my project. Have to obtain a new device to keep working. Failed way to fast for my comfort!
