Tandoori is a term originating from India that refers to the Tandoor Oven or the Tandoori, which is an oven made from brick and clay. The intense heat (usually over 500 degrees) produces a smokey fire that cooks food very quickly. This method of cooking, as well as the spices most often used in this type of cooking, are commonly referred to as Tandoori. Tandoori Spice is a bright red powder that is often used to give foods the traditional red-orange coloring used in Tandoor oven cooking. Suggested Use: This spice is used as a rub for meats prior to cooking (traditionally in the Tandoori Ovens). Used primarily in Indian cuisines. All Organic Ingredients: Organic Coriander, Chili, Cumin, Black Pepper, Cloves, Stone Flower, Fennel, Salt, Star Anise, Bay Leaves, Cardamom, Acacia, Garlic, Onion and Turmeric. Basic Prep: There is no preparation required for tandoori, although it is often combined with yogurt to form a tandoori paste for marinating.
