The material was not as thick as I expected but still does what it us intended to do for now.

Ordered this direct from BayTec so this won't show as a "Verified Purchase", however, I want to add my opinion since there are so few reviews posted. We love the cover. Our emergency barrel is stored inside the entrance to our garage and the blue color of the barrel shouts "emergency water here" to passersby. It instantly makes the barrel not perceptible and keeps the top of the barrel dirt-free. No, it is NOT heavy duty, but after adding the AquaMira mixture there is no need to lift the cover for 5 years at which time you simply retreat the water (unless the predicted earthquake occurs). Also, love the drawstring at the bottom, which gives a tight fit. Don't think the cover will endure though if barrel is stored outside.

For what it is, the quality of the bag is fairly low compared to the price. It fits well over my 55 Gallon rain barrel, and the material works for what it is. The problem is that after about a two weeks or so outside the bag formed a rip. During that time I checked on the water level of my barrel a few times, but I do not think that lifting the bag off of the plastic barrel should have caused it to rip.
