Swamp People: Season 3 [DVD]

Bought for my Husband
I bought this show for my Husband more so than for me. He thinks it is great and loves the show because of the people. As he says they speak his language. We're from South East Missouri on the Eastern side of the Ozark Mountains. He gets a kick out of the subtitles for people who may not understand what these folks are saying. He and our youngest son understand every word and phrase spoken. It is a language that is learned if you live any where near the South. Only the French that is thrown in is different than what we grew up with. But even in some parts of our state, other languages find their way in, including French. Swamp People is basically about Alligator Season in Louisiana and the people that participate in the catching and harvesting of these magnificent animals. I personally would like to see more about the people and a little less about how to catch Alligators. After three seasons, I think we know how it is done. The show may seem brutal to some folks and it is a job that dictates you being brutal or you may end up as lunch for the Gators. Probably not a good show for the very young unless you are willing to take the time and patience to explain what is going on. The people that star in Swamp People are just what they are. Common everyday people, with families and pets that have learned how to carve a living out of the swamp. If we lived there I'm sure we would be just as involved as they are. No matter where you may go in this great country, you are going to find these types of people. People making a living out of the natural resources they have around them. My only hope is that this show doesn't ruin the people who star in it. It seems that too many times we see folks getting involved with television and then they loose sight of where they have come from. They loose touch with the very thing the show is about. I hope for them that they know when to pull the plug and go back to being who they are. It concerns me that for them becoming a celebrity, may get in the way of their families and the life they love. The show is well done and seems to be free of a lot of cursing and fowl language. What is said is usually done in the excitement of the catch and capture. It is well edited and "Bleeped". I would however give it a PG-13 rating. We are also excited about the next season to come. I'm sure season four will be just as much fun to watch as the first three seasons have been. If you are looking for something different than cops, lawyers or medicine shows, then this is a great alternative. I recommend it to anyone that is interested in learning about life in our Southern most areas of our nation. Life in the swamps of Louisiana.

Real people doing a REAL show. Great 2 see parts of America I've never been to. Good & Interesting
I love Swamp people! Real people with real lives in a very beautifully pictured swamp that I would like 2 actually visit. They are hard working, very family oriented people, who give up their time & effort to help others in need. Miss that in your Neighborhood?? I do. And they don't make up silly or stupid stuff up on this show to keep you entertained!!Troy Landry is my favorite ("shoot 'em Clint shoot 'em!) Liz is the bomb & really works it for a woman gator hunter & always has the best women partners! ( I can't believe the things they can do...any women U know lifting 600lb gators??) RJ and Jay Paul rock...check out those muscles! Willy is cool, especially since he got front teeth put in, but his dad Junior...mule! I mean stubborn. But dude with the dog...that dog is gonna get you killed.Try a person as a partner instead, hunting alone is not very smart...which your dog isn't. How many times has he jumped or fallen off your boat??!!Hey Troy, can I come visit your family? I'm a real good cook, I like to fish, help people, clean & would like to learn how to shoot gators in the right spot. (shoot 'em Sunny shoot 'em!) Oh & I can do the gator shuffle. (:

the title says is all.
This is a great show. We loved seasons one and two and season three is still a hit!! My son and his dad recently had a chance to meet Joe and Tommy and they were the nicest most down to earth people. Totally felt like someone you've known for years. It seems in the time of reality tv where everyone is out to make more and more money and totally leave the life that they had before, these guys are exactly as they seem on tv. ( obviously could be wrong ) Totally reccomend it and if you have the chance to meet them, it is worth the wait!!

These guys are awesome
I enjoy watching these guys and the drama that happens. Of course I am a nature guy and wish I could be doing what they are (besides the killing part). I also enjoy the side stories of the two brothers that aren't alligator hunters, but catch gar and squirrels, etc. Also, the random facts that are provided every once in a while, like where the term sharp shooter came from and what the longest sniper kill shot distance was up til 2009. Very cool. Can't wait for season 4 and beyond.

My favorite series
I watch Swamp people over and over. It is fascinating what some people do for a living. But this is one of those things that I wound't do for any amount of money. Plus the characters on the show are real down to earth people and they make you feel like family. I absolutely love Troy and his family. Great series, you should give it a try. It will definitely keep you rivited to your tv.

Troy is the KING of the Swamp!!
A real life look into the lives of these Louisiana Bayou Gator fisherman.. 30 days to fill there tags and grab a piece of the Gator gold mine with prices at there highest. These men and women love there land and take great pride in living off the swamp, a true view into America's heartland and family traditions! Lots of action and danger lurks around every corner!! Fantastic - Love it!!!!

Just Good Folks
It surprised me that I enjoyed Swamp People so much. It isn't my normal type of television viewing. The bottom line of what makes Swamp People such an entertaining program is the people of the swamps. The real life characters are good people, good family people, hard working people. It's those good folk, and yes the alligator excitement too, that keep me coming back to the show each season.

Don't mess with gators!
Terrific series. I like that it has real people. The "trash" talk between contenders for the "King of the Swamp" title is amusing.
