The flaky, waxy skin can be slightly bitter to taste which is why many recipes call for this to be removed. It is recommended eating with the skin for maximum walnut goodness. Second time purchased, but 2/3 of the pack are inedible :/
Ordered before , about 2 monyhs ago..and walnuts were good , not amazing but still ordered again but those are inedible. 2/3 of the bag are black, bitter, dry , eaten by insects.. The taste is awful. I understand that it might be bad season sometimes, but then customer shouldn't be mislead with advertising that walnuts are great , fresh , organic etc.. If bad season, simply don't sell rancid nuts. I am disappointed how these could be packed and sent to customer as it was obvious the state of the product .

good amount of walnuts received. packaged nicely. However, every second nut is gone off. They are disgusting. very disappointed

Bitter and lacking pleasant walnut flavour
Walnuts are bitter without flavour. Supplier very kindly explained why this might be so. Wouldn't recommend if you are looking for sweet tasting walnuts.

Bad tasting
Very disappointed with the taste of these walnuts. I am not sure if I got a bad batch but walnuts are very bitter, almost like chemical tasting. Unfortunately this is the worst walnut I have ever eaten and going to trash. Waste of money. I wish I could return.

Disappointing
This is the second time I have purchased nuts from RealFoodSource. The first purchase was very good,and I gave five stars. This time around the nuts are disappointing, and of a poorer quality. They are ok, but some quite soft, and no-where near as fresh and Chunchon as my first order. I'll think twice about a third order.

OK but not amazing
OK , but not that impressed.Very large number of quarters rather than halves. Bought 4 Kg and although organic would not buy again, unless it was the only option. Waitrose lovelife were out of stock for weeks and as we actirate and eat walnuts regularly we tried these. They are OK, but not brilliant.

I'll start by saying the Walnuts are great but...I went to order the 1kg and it said they were out of stock and only 2kg and 4kg were available. I ordered the 2kg bags and they delivered 2 x 1kg bags. I will eventually eat them but I thought it was a bit off.
