Good Size but Old Marks Remain
I recently received this mat and it's as large as advertised. I measured to be sure and in fact it's a little larger than the listing says. Perhaps people who are complaining of the size were sent the wrong item? My issue with it is that the writing surface never fully fades back to white. I can faintly see the first few things we drew on it from yesterday still. I tried wiping the entire thing down with water and letting it dry but the lines come back. It's not that big a deal to my son right now but over time it might be frustrating if old marks are everywhere.

Love it!
I was feeling guilty cause I've been meaning to let my two year old doodle but been stalling cause I didn't want him to start drawing on the new house we just moved into.. Until I found this!!! Perfect to teach him how to draw and write without the mess that comes with that! I also bought the Aqua doodle travel pad. This one has s good if you have hard surface to draw on.. (Floor, board. Etc) since this is flimsy.. Like a blanket but the coloring area is pretty big.The Aqua doodle is smoother and you can definetly see and feel the difference in quality. But either way they are made to do the same thing and it doesn't compromise my kids urge to draw so I still love both doodle pads.

An ok toy
It's made of a different material than the aquadoodle . . . instead of cloth, it seems more like, I dunno, soft foam? The paintbrush thing holds a lot of water. Haven't tried the stamp things yet. My baby is still a little young for this, at 1 1/2. She sucks the water out of the paintbrush rather than drawing on the mat, yet has somehow managed to color on it with crayon. Maybe when she is older she will get the hang of it. I know my other kids loved their aquadoodle and I was looking for something a little less expensive, with more colors, than their old toy.

Save your money.
This was a huge disappointment. It is only about 12 inches big and the actual drawing space was maybe 6 inches big, if that. In the advertising photo the mat looks fairly large, with the marker laying on it, well if I were to lay the marker on the one I got, it would reach from top to bottom of the boarder. This was going to be a Christmas present for a four year old, thinking it would be large enough for her to lay on the floor and doodle, it's not. I think I will try to return it.

Fun for children, No mess for parents
I first received this product as a gift for my eighteen-month old. Then, I purchased this same Water Painting Mat as a gift for my nephews and as another gift for a friend's child. This is an appropriate gift for ages 18 months to 5 years, and even better for the parents, there is no clean up!

you really can not beat the price & I thought it was a good toy.
We decided to purchase this one for our children versus the original Aquadoodle mat, and as far as the mat itself goes, you really can not beat the price & I thought it was a good toy...also comes with a small foam puzzle & you can use the puzzle pieces to trace on the mat. What I REALLy found disappointing about this product was the water pen that it came with. Water leaks easily from the tip of the pen, making it hard to draw onto the mat (which really is the purpose of the toy). I would suggest finding another water pen to use with this toy.

Love it! Its not as small as people complain it to be!!!
My 5 yr old loves this!!! The little stencils are great and this mat isn't huge but I don't understand why some reviews say it's so small. It's perfect, bigger than 8x11, the drawing area is more like 12x15. It's awesome, the water pen is great and much less expensive than aquadoodle. Love It, fast shipping and great packaging!

Great Gift!
Great toy for a toddler. No mess. Much cheaper than the Aquadoodle brand. I just bought a couple of extra "pens" to use in case they get lost. Does come with one pen. Pretty easy, just fill the pen and then it marks the water on the sections. It doesn't do "color" it really just brings out the color of what's already on the mat. But if you aren't picky- your kid will love!

This was the size of half a piece of paper ...
This was the size of half a piece of paper. Stamps didn't come with it. My son colours it in 30 seconds and then it takes 10 minutes to dry.
