I'm asking for college dorm room purposes.** A: When you Mount this hanger it is highly recommended you screw it into a wall stud or block wall. Don't use it on a drywall with out a stud it will pull out. To answer your question it is a matter of removing the screws and patching the holes with Spackle. Paint wall. I work for a university and we do not allow wall mounts in our dorms. This was cheap and it came fast, but it is not very good. My husband struggled with it for quite a while because the anchors were not designed with tabs to keep them outside the wall, like most anchors of this type are. He made it work eventually, but it took a lot of patience, and a second person to help hold on.
