Not many reviews and the ones here are very short so I thought I'd give a slightly longer one.The part works great and the included tools were much appreciated. You really only need a prying tool, screwdriver, tweezers, and the SIM remover but the extra parts are appreciated.I wasn't able to hear calls outside of headsets or speakerphone for weeks. I tried a lot of software solutions, including ones that required rooting, before I accepted it must be a hardware fault. Luckily with the guides on iFixit and a youtube video by Fix Stop, Inc I was able to do this replacement in about 20 minutes. I didn't even have to remove the mainboard or have to be careful about tearing ribbon cables. Also no need for a heat gun. I'm not the best at these types of things but this one was refreshingly easy. The most tedious part was removing the midframe and that wasn't bad at all.Very satisfied to say it solved my problem. With Android O around the corner, I'm hoping this repair allows me to get many more months out of my Nexus 5X. Very impressed with the "repairability" of this phone, despite my annoyance that the original earpiece failed on me.

I noticed without warning that the earpiece speaker on my Nexus 5X wasn't working, requiring me to use the speakerphone on all calls. After some on-line searches I found an app to test the earpiece speaker and confirmed it as the problem. Some more time on-line and I found it could be replaced, part was available and teardown videos even showed how. Then I went to Amazon for speaker pricing and found this kit from OmniRepairs that includes a replacement speaker and toolkit for less than the price of the speaker itself plus shipping from others. After reading the many five star reviews of others' experiences with the same problem and how easy it was to repair using OmniRepairs' kit, I was emboldened to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did. The earpiece speaker worked. Phone sound is back. I would leave 5 stars except that prying off the Nexus 5X back cover and mid frame was more tricky/stressful than I expected with no instructions (suggested pry points or tool selection) provided for a novice like me. I had to rely on a random internet video and I definitely did some damage to the plastic during multiple prying attempts but did no serious breakage it seems.

The items were received promptly. I was able to fix the speaker with no issues. Customer service was great as well.

Product is exactly as described. Packaging was perfect, shipping fast! It came with all the displayed tools, some of them are not even needed. Very pleased. Installation took only about 20-30 minutes, mostly because I am extremely cautious and slow to make sure I don't break anything. Earpiece speaker quality improved a lot. Great! Thank you! Works good just didn’t fix my issue I was having with sound restart.
