UPDATE: A year later, and with daily use, this drain cover is still in place thanks to having removed the rubber O ring and securing it to the shower base with a little silicone caulk. It doesn't let anything get past it, and hasn't rusted or bent. Still 5 stars!This drain hair catcher works great keeping hair from going down the drain. We removed the rubber gasket and secured it to the shower base with a little silicone caulk, and nothing is getting past it. It sits flush with the shower base and fits right into the area where a regular drain cover would go. I like this type of hair catcher MUCH better than the plastic bubble type that you set over the drain. Those cause the water to back up so you're standing in a puddle while showering. This one lets the water flow down the drain normally but not the hair. My pictures show the shower drain before and after using the shower and what the hair catcher caught from just one shower. Very effective!

But after just one shower I realized it was not working. This review was written after 2 weeks of daily use.Packaging - The product was packaged in a good quality frosted zip type plastic bag. Inside the bag were the drain cover and tweezers. The drain cover itself consists of 2 parts; The metal drain cover, and the silicone "edge".The product:Pro's -The metal drain cover is as pictured. It is not flimsy at all. It is sturdy and not bendable.Cons -Issue 1 - The cover does not stay in place over the drain. It slips easily even when the silicone ring hasn't fallen off.Issue 2 - The silicone ring falls off the drain cover, and I felt that I might cut my foot.It is a big O-Ring that is supposed to protect you from the sharp metal edge. But it is very thin, and flimsy to stay on. It is too thin and flimsy to stay in place. I re-attaching it is a bit of a pain. Also, the exposed edge of the metal could be a potential cutting hazard to wet feet.

Product is the exact size for our newly remodeled shower but, my wife’s first shower with it the rubber ring came off. Same day it was delivered, I will replace an give it a chance. Unfortunate because it fits perfectly but I will not do this every day. Of course some epoxy will fix but why should I have to.Update, I increased my review to 4 stars. The drain catch works very well without the rubber seal, I did not try to replace it. The tile and grout make for an exact fit. I would recommend this for drains that are not centered in the shower.

The original shower drain cover had holes that were too large and let hair wash through. This one fits over the existing cover perfectly and catches all the hair. It sits in the indentation so it never gets kicked loose. The rubber gasket will come off if you're not careful when cleaning but it's not difficult to get it back on. It looks like it was installed when the shower was built. I bought a different one last year and it was a little too large and would slide around the shower defeating the purpose.

I am unable to get the perfect size. My drain is a standard size but when measuring, the shower drain, this product, is 1/8th inch too large to fit inside my shower hole area, even when I remove the outer rubber ring. I have it sitting over the drain but it moves around constantly.

This hair catcher works well. My shower floor is not quite perfectly flat because it is tiled, consequently a few hairs may get by it, but not many. I removed the rubber ring to see if it made a difference and I subsequently noticed more hair being trapped on top of the hair catcher. Removing the o-ring also eliminates water pooling on the shower floor. Before taking a shower I simply pick up the hair from the previous shower off the catcher and put in the trash.

Found this drain cover after almost buying another one at twice the price. I have a tiled shower that has an existing drain with much larger holes. I guess this was a standard drain type and hair can easily get through. My drain has a slight slope and this fit well. The outer ring keeps it in place unless you deliberately kick it and the material looks like it is made of good quality but time will tell. I should have bought this a long time ago...

This fit perfectly in the drain of my stand-up shower. It's as good at catching hair as any other product I've tried, but I especially love how the flat design makes it so easy to clean. Literally just pinch the hair that's gathered up, and throw it away. Previous plastic or silicone hair catchers were such a pain to clean with my medium-length hair. Also love that this looks like a normal metal drain cover. No one else using my shower would ever need to know.
