Works, but came with a dead battery. Had me on wild goose chase
It works for 08 CTS with twist knob ignition. I went through the 30 min programming instructions that I found online, but when I tried the buttons on the remote after the programming was complete, nothing worked! So i put the remote back into its slot in the console, and the car would start. So I thought maybe I did something wrong, and went through the 30 minute programming again, while researching the possibility that i bought the wrong one. After the second attempt at programming with the same result (car recognizes fob only when in the slot) i remembered watching a "how to" video on YouTube, saying that the car will recognize the fob in the slot even if it has a dead battery, smart, at least you won't be stranded if the battery dies, there should be a message somewhere that tells you that. Anyway i had another remote for my traverse with the same battery, swapped batteries and voila. Just came with a dead battery.Update: i just assumed that the remote worked as it should just because the buttons worked, but the car still only starts with the fob in the slot.

IT WORKS!!
Remote Control Car Key Fob for Cadillac STS - first, you must determine how many Key FOB's have already been programmed. Four (4) is the maximum. It will not program a fifth, period. Second, match the part number. In other words, open it up, read the part number and match it exactly to the unit you are buying. Read "Programming Transmitters to the Vehicle" and follow the step by step instructions. It worked, first time. I am so happy. Best money I ever spent!!

Arrived broken
It doesn't work even after searching the web and trying a few things to make it work. Then the fun really starts if try to get some help because the phones aren't answered, messages are not returned, and numerous emails must be disappearing because not one of them has been replied to
