Koldfront WAC8003WCO 8000 BTU 115V Window Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier and Remote Control

I am very happy with this window A/C; ordered it in April and it came quickly (I see it is still available even though it is almost July). It does a good job cooling the room and is fairly quiet. A good deal.

Purchased this model on 7/2022. Used it -2022,2023 . This summer 2024 in died only a humming sound every 5-10 minutes. I had also purchased 2- WAC6002WC0 Koldfront models (that are discontinued) and are working perfectly .... still. otherwise it worked perfectly for only 2 summers/NYC.In addition purchased 7/5/23 this wall model WTC10002WCO115V works beautifully.

It’s okay, does it’s job. Definitely made for very small spaces, basically anymore than a small bedroom is too big. Setup was pretty easy, I did it by myself. Temperature works pretty well, it adjusts accordingly. No major complaints. It’s pretty loud so you’ll have to adjust.

This AC until can keep my 600 Sq foot, vaulted ceiling common living space nice and cool even on a hot day. My central air is not very strong and this window unit can keep it sustainably cooler than my central air during the hot days.

It cools my small kitchen and living room very well so far. I'll have to wait until summer to see how it does during the brutal heat though.Edit: After running it through the summer heat it still managed to keep me cool.I've had one annoyance. The thermostat doesn't work as expected. I have to manually adjust the thermostat to maintain temperature. It will freeze you then later on the same setting won't kick the compressor in till it's way to hot in the room.

It is very noisy

I bought this to cool an office / jam room in my garage and it's working out just fine. If I have another fan helping to distribute the air I can leave this unit on its efficiency setting. I'm in FL and I keep the temp set to 76 or 77 when I'm in there. (I raise it to 81 overnight) It's about as noisy as every other room A/C I've ever heard. I don't think there is that much of a difference between most units. The little remote doesn't work all that well but how often do you need a remote for an air conditioner? I've had it a year now and no issues.

It was fine to cool a single bedroom with the door shut....until it started rattling. I’ve had it a total of one month, and have only run it about half that time. The rattling noise is so distracting it’s now hard to sleep. Don’t recommend.Update....one week later and zero response from the seller.
