Bead Tube Jewelry: Peyote and brick stitch designs for 30+ necklaces, bracelets, and earrings

I'm a fan of Nancy Zellers and actually learned Peyote stitch seed beading in one of her classes. Zeller is a patient teacher and understands that each student learns at a different pace, so she is always one to take time to make her instructions as clear and concise as possible, and it shows in her book "Bead Tube Jewelry".To the advanced beader this book may not be Earth shaking but it does contain a number of lovely peyote stitch charts along with several Peyote tube projects that a beginner or intermediate beader may fully appreciate. It also offers the novice, or those with time restraints, lots of projects that are quick to makeI would not hesitate to recommend this book to my beading friends.

I am an acomplished beader and have many beading books. However, this book which can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced beaders alike has quickly become a favorite. Whenever I don't want to get into a project that is detailed and time consuming, this is the book I turn to. Nancy's directions are really excellant for the new beader as well as a refresher for us old timers, and her patterns and projects are so much fun to do. I change up colors and beads and each finished piece is done in a short time. No matter which bracelet or necklace I wear (especially Dehli Delight) it is received with compliments because the tubes are just different enough to be noticed.

Just learning the peyote and brick stitches, I found this book a great book to learn tubular jewelry. Usually, I have observed many homemade jewelry projects are just that.."they look homemade" and not a more professional look. This particular book gives a classier look to a homemade peyote or brick stitch piece of jewelry and also Nancy Zeller gives precise and easy to understand instructions to all her projects which makes it much easier to learn new ways of using the peyote stitch or brick stitch. I highly recommend this book to any new beginner to the peyote stitch or brick stitch. Worth the money at Amazon's prices!!!!!

Making tubes was one of the first things I learned about beading and I think they are fun to make. Haven't made any in a long time, but I will start again. The designs are clever and fun, the finished pieces something I would enjoy wearing. Lots of different takes on an easy idea and lots of directions to go off on your own. I am going to have fun with this book. Thanks!

The cover of a book always entices me. This book promises to be interesting and it is. The projects are simply illustrated and the instructions are clear. Close ups of the projects are essential and the book has them. I highly recommend this book to new and experienced beaders for projects that are doable, materials that are easily accessible, and projects that can be completed in a timely manner. The price is right, too!

A one note book, but the patterns are lovely, readable and useful to me. I have made several pieces based on these patterns.

This book is too redundant, after a few pages on how to make the peyote tubes, the rest of the book is just pattern grids, stripes etc. I can make or get patterns without a book. I was looking for more tips and ways to make a variety of peyote earrings. Like ideas of what to put at top and bottom, borders, varying sizes of beads etc.

I am delighted with this book. It offers around thirty projects for bead tubes made either with peyote stitch or brick stitch but there are so many different charts given for these projects that the permutations are myriad. The projects include necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants and are complete with finishing instructions. There are many pieces here that a beginner can easily complete as well as lots of ideas for more experienced beaders.The book is nicely produced with many colour photographs as well as full-colour, good-sized charts to work from. My only slight gripe is that the chart colours used to show the different beads are sometimes too close in value to easily differentiate. To compensate for this, Ms Zellers lists exactly which beads from the Delica range she has used for each item so that you can order by manufacturer's catalogue number if you want to duplicate the piece shown.For me the best thing about this book is not the useful and varied charts nor the pleasure of looking at the attractive jewellery. At heart I am a practical woman (for all I spend so much time with such tiny beads, making things that are purely ornamental) and when I saw that Ms Zellers gives careful thought and time to the nuts and bolts of technique, I was completely won over. The dreaded odd-count flat peyote turn is explained better than I have ever seen and we are given seven options of how to achieve it. And they all work. Brick stitch is treated as thoroughly and the difficulty of keeping one's place on a chart is solved for us neatly and without cost.I have made several of the items and I am not sated yet. Change the colour, change the look; I can almost promise these charts will keep you happy for many hours of beading pleasure.

tubes in every color and combination. this book is not a real technical one, because after telling you how to bead a tube there's nothing else to explain. but if you are a beginner or little more and don't have many ideas of the variety of effects you can obtain with beads just justapposing colors, this book is nice.there are also patterns to follow for creating the designs.

Great book keep picking it up but keep forgetting to buy straws

I don't think there is enough content in this to make a reasonable book. However good clear and detailed instructions make it suitable for a beginner.
