I am familiar with some high end guitars, both acoustic and electric and was looking for an inexpensive electric 12 to use for fun. Other reviews suggested the Danelectro 59X12 was a lot for the money. So I made the leap.I am find it truly a lot for the money. It is finished off surprisingly well, the neck in particular, especially the fret ends. It is well set-up, and I doubt the set-up could be improved. The finish is flawless, and the tuners and hardware pretty good. The electronics are buried inside so I am not going to look at them. The only thing cheap looking are the knobs - they could do a lot better on these for a buck or two.This is a lot of value for the price. I think I can get all the fun factor from this 12 without going to a Ric 660 or PRS (or Gibson or Strat XII).Great value. Good job Danelectro.Cases: Have not found a perfect fit yet. 13.5" lower bout will not fit a genuine Strat case (too wide). Generic retangular case (mine) nope - 13.5" lower bout too wide. SG case: nope. LP case: haven't tried. May fit some other rectangular case that fits 13.5" width. Will fit in an ES-335 (skb anyway) case with room to rattle around.
