Having watched many, many very positive YouTubes, I was put off by the amount of assembly taunting me. Finally, I needed it for a project, and I rolled up my sleeves. First of all, the instructions are excellent. There is absolutely not that much to put together, it becomes intuitive, and it works so well, my whole yard instantly became a free Home Depot lumber section. This thing is great, it’s not scary, and it’s worth every penny. You need a much greater than 4 inch bandsaw. I have the Rikon 13 inch. Then, just go to work. It has length limits. You can floor your basement. It will just take you 32 years. But, boy it would be fun. Review: Light but heavy duty - This is a great tool that is heavy duty yet light enough to handle easily. Definitely much easier to use that the homemade wood mill I made from a popular woodworking magazine design. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than expected but a helpful warning about assembly *by M***L on February 21, 2020* I have used a homemade bandsaw log mill for a few years and decided to upgrade. Originally I planned on making another more flexible log mill but after reading the literature and reviews, and calculating the cost of making one myself, I decided to purchase this product. It is much better than I expected. This is a heavy duty product that is easy to use and so far seems very well made. The only nit is that when it came time to install the mylar strips to the bottom of the sled I mistook the glossy white paper covered with clear film for the mylar itself. After I unsuccessfully tried to peel apart the white paper strip I realized something was wrong. Then I reviewed the installation instructions which are inadequate on this point. It took a call to Carter to resolve the mystery: the thin clear film is the Mylar, not the white paper strip which is actually just backing. Unfortunately, I had crumpled the clear sticky film into a ball and threw it onto the sawdust covered floor where it became irrevocably contaminated. (Yes, I'm a slob.)
