Useful AND fun!
I bought this camera to help me figure out what was stealing eggs from some of my free-range hens' nest boxes (see if you can guess what it turned out to be by the end of this review!) It had all the criteria I was looking for: motion-activation and weatherproof - without a lot of extra stuff I was not interested in, such as high resolution, etc. It actually turns out to have better resolution than I expected (but don't expect to win wildlife-photo prizes using this!)Anyway something was brazenly stealing not only eggs but also my expensive ceramic nest-eggs, in broad daylight, usually between 10 AM and 4 PM. That pretty much ruled out the usual egg-thieves (raccoons and possums.) I needed to ID the thief so I could think of a strategy to defeat it. I suspected snakes at first... but snakes don't come back day after day, and definitely not several times in one day - they need a week or more to digest! Besides, eating a ceramic nest egg is death to a snake, and I knew I couldn't have that many snakes around here big enough to eat eggs - I'd be tripping over them! I was even blaming my dog for awhile... but keeping him under strict supervision did not stop the thefts. ...Squirrels?So I ordered this camera and set it up about 15' from one of the nest boxes. I had to use a little wedge of spare lumber to make it face down at the right angle at that close a range. Found an old half-gig SD card to put in it (it doesn't come with the SD card!) The camera is very simple to set up but you can discombobulate it if you don't follow the instructions and always pause on "Off" for a second or two before switching from test mode to PIR mode or back again. If you DO discombobulate it, though, it's easy to re-boot it by taking the batteries out for a second.Mostly I got pictures of my hens laying eggs. The first couple of days, eggs continued to disappear without me catching a shot of the thief. I was starting to think it must be something without body heat (even snakes give off absorbed heat on a hot day!) My friends said I must have a poultrygeist. (I DID see a few "orbs" in some of the night shots!)I found it was easiest to take the SD card out and check it on my computer every day. That way you don't have to undo that long strap each time (it does come with a very long strap, in case you need to secure it to a really thick tree!) It's also possible to delete any unwanted images directly from the SD card itself in Windows Explorer, if you have a card-reader, so you don't really have to delete them through the clunky interface on the camera itself, even though the instructions don't tell you that. The most images I ever got in one 24 hour period was 120 or so - that didn't fill my little half-gig SD card much at all, so if you intend to check the camera often, you really don't need a huge card.On the third day, the culprit got careless! I caught a nice series of shots of a crow hopping into the nest and taking away one egg after another (two of them ceramic) by picking up a whole egg in his beak! Usually crows steal eggs by spearing them with their beaks and carrying them away by the edge of the beak-hole, but they wouldn't be able to spear a hard ceramic egg, so I had never even thought it might be a crow. But this fellow must have been unusually large, or else just really talented. Or maybe he was actually a raven. Anyway I set up a tarp to cover the view of the affected nest boxes from the sky, and the problem is solved. So the camera was definitely a good investment! Now that the mystery is solved, I've set it up down by my pond just to spy on the comings and goings of the various green herons and deer and whatnot - it's been fun for the grandkids! It's run for probably a total of twenty days or so, so far, and the batteries are still fine.

Security camera
I purchased this camera for my remote campsite that I only see on weekends. It works really well, the flash is REALLY bright and takes good quality photos at night.I added the 2gb SD card and it will now store about 3000 or so photos.Photos are very clear and easy to view.Definitely recommend this camera.

Good Camera. Only a few drawbacks.
The pictures it takes are pretty good for being only 1.3 megapixels. And the price is unbeatable. But there's just a few things that detract from the overall camera. First is the batteries. It seems to go through them in about a month of normal picture taking. Of course, that may be because I used cheap alkaline batteries. And when you change out the batteries, you lose the date and time setting and have to reprogram it. It does have a fairly standard power plug. And since I already had an extension cord running down to the back pasture, I just plugged a cheap wall wart into it and it has been working just fine on AC power for 6 months now. Another thing I don't like is the strap used to hold it to trees. If you plan to keep it in the same spot for a while (as I do) then that's not much of a problem. But if you like to move it around, it can be a hassle unstrapping it and mounting it somewhere else. The last issue is the built-in memory. It can't hold more than a handful of pictures, so you have to get an SD expansion card. But those are fairly common and inexpensive.Other than those issues, I think it's a good camera. The flash is not infrared - just a regular flash. But it has a decent range (about 30 feet as claimed in the packaging). The trigger delay is minimal - only the fastest moving game will be missed if they are moving across the field of view. I got this mainly to photograph the deer that I've seen on my property, but I've also captured foxes, skunks, raccoons, rabbits and a bobcat. If I can figure out how, I'll post some of these images at Amazon.

Wildview EZ Cam 1.3MB - DON'T BUY - LOW QUALITY PRODUCT - RIDICULOUS WARRANTY !!!
This is a review for the Wildview EZ 1.3 Mb Cam Model #STC- TGLBC1:The first unit I received was disfunctional right out of the package. I sent it back to Wildview in Texas. It took 4 (!) months to receive a replacement unit. This camera then worked for approx. one month until it stopped functioning again. After calling Wildview ([...]) again, I learned that replacement units "enjoy" only a warranty time of 60 days! Thank you very much. This was my very first time experience with a game cam and I must say that I truly enjoyed it. However, after my ordeal with this product and it's distributor, I have come to the conclusion that it does not pay to purchase a low cost camera from a less known maker. In the long run you will appreciate the value of a better quality product from a well known manufacturer who takes customer service and customer satisfaction a bit more serious. These guys get away with because too many buyers want cheap products. Cheap product = cheap quality = unpleasant experience...Do yourself a favour and don't purchase this product. Consider buying a higher end cam if possible - from a local shop so that you can return it there in case of a problem. This saves you from paying the return postage and possible long waiting time.(View this cam on youtube - [...] - no offense to Sportsman Guide intended)

Not recommended
This game camera came to me with no instuction manual and no means to attach it to a tree or some other fixed object. I returned this item without even trying it so I cannot comment on its intended performance. I figured if I had to purchase a strap and figure out how to operate it by trial and error it was not worth the money spent.
