Itac or SigTac Taurus International 1911AR Paddle Holster fits PT1911AR

Let me start by saying that I had no idea how hard it would be to find a holster to fit my Taurus 1911AR. Hardly anyone makes anything for it!I took a shot on this one, since it was similar to the Serpa. This holster works great with the Taurus 1911AR. It was a big relief to know that I didn't have to continue my cycle of buying/trying/returning.Once I got working with it, I didn't like how much I had to push the round button in to release the catch. So, I took it apart and used my Dremel to grind down the little catch that goes over the front of the trigger guard. After about 5 minutes of work, I had it where I wanted it.My use for this holster is strictly for the range. I'm not using this to try and conceal carry my 1911AR. To me, that would be a different choice in holster.But, if you're looking for a holster that fits your 1911AR like a glove, and has a retention feature, this is what you're looking for.

I ordered this holster from Amazon a month before I bought the gun. I had to wait for the permit to be issued here in NJ, (always a long process), and then for the gun to arrive at the dealer. The holster delivered quickly, and I could not check the fit to the gun until a month after the holster arrived. The gun is a TAURUS 1911, with a Picatinny Rail that sits lower than other 1911 models. I read several reviews from other people that could not find a holster with the proper fit. iTAC has done a great job fitting this gun and created a secure fit that locks in the pistol. Fear not, you will be happy with this one. This company manufactures an array of goods the will satisfy almost all gun enthusiast. I will follow up with their mag pouches and a shooters vest. I'll start with the pistol to holster fit - The holster fits the pistol like a glove. The push button lock release is very secure and the pistol does not rattle around in the holster. As far as the inside the waist paddle - I don't like it. The holster is held to the paddle with an allen head screw and a nut. the mating surface of the holster and paddle is a circle with shallow teeth that engage each other when mated and the screw is tightened. It allows for infinite angle adjustment. I prefer the Blackhawk Quick Disconnect system with all the optional set-ups. I removed the paddle from the holster and modified and mounted the male adapter for the Blackhawk Quick Disconnect system to the back of the holster. Now I can use the holster on the belt loop platform, drop leg platform, or S.T.R.I.K.E. Platform...all of which I had and got to keep after my last deployment. I love the holster with the belt loop platform which has the female adapter on it. I put that on when I get dressed and the snap in the holstered pistol. If I go someplace where I can't be armed, I just push the two disconnect tabs and off comes the holstered pistol and I stow it in my car. It's that quick and easy. The only down side I have with this set up is that the male and female adapters make the holster stand out off the hip about a half of an inch. Oh, one other thing. I have the Taurus 1911 with integral rail under the muzzle which this holster does accommodate but will not work if you have anything mounted to the rail such as a light or laser.

Granted it's for a very specific firearm, but I have one built in to my truck under the steering wheel and another I use for day to day carry. These are solid easy to use, comfortable to wear. With great weapon retention and an ease to get it out when it's needed. Like any part of a self defense plan practice makes perfect and adjustment makes it better. The holster is adjustable which for the price you could be paying alot more just for that. I'm super satisfied with this holster and you will be to! Bobdole approves this product

Checked the barrel and not loaded**Great holster. Finally found one to fit my Taurus 1911 AR. As some have said it is made by SIG tactical gear. It slides in and out perfect. Has a slight movement to it but only if you force it. You won't notice the holster on your side as its concaved. The 1911barrel will go tip to tip with the holster as in the 3rd picture.Other then that you can't fit anything on the front underarrel if you wanna holster it.
