Great start but...
I don't usually review a book that I didn't enjoy but there were good things about this book; I just wish it was better. So the good : I really like Sean. He seems like a genuinely nice person and someone I would probably want to be friends with. I like Siobhan (Ash's sister) and Eric and Leo (Sean's friends). The story started off great but...Not so good : I really did not like Ash as the story went on. He did not grow at all. His internal musings and thoughts were uncharitable and vapid. The only relationship he has that is quite normal is probably with his sister and even then I feel like he is really quite selfish. I get having a baby is hard and you feel all kinds of crazy but he just never seem to settle at all. It made me want to smack him upside down the head and I'm not a violent person! I couldn't connect with him at all!The bad: The reason why this is a 1.5 star for me is the love story. What is it about Ash that made Sean fall in love with him? He's quite self absorbed, which I get, with a new baby and all that. He probably knows Sean better than Sean knows him because, other than kissing Sean, he's all about the baby, to a point where I would say is unhealthy. The story maybe was rushed by the author and given some time it might have turned out better. But I don't know the author and I don't think I've ever read anything else they wrote so I can't say or sure. There were some typos but nothing to bad.To conclude, I did not enjoy this book. Well, I enjoyed the first few chapters but at around 50% I really wished I hadn't bought it.

Broome's Books Review
I love reading stories about single parents, doing their thing and finding love at the same time. There’s just something about it that normally hits the spot for me. There’s a quiet strength that is present in characters like that. I was missing that feeling in this story. I’m usually a HUGE fan of hers but this, just didn’t do it for me.So on to what I enjoyed ...I liked Sean, Eric and Leo. A house full of first responders trying to find their place in the world. What isn’t to like about this? Also, they have a dog named Cap (short for Captain America)! Asher was every bit the flustered first-time parent. Some of his actions were things that anyone can be like, ‘yep, so-and-so totally did that’.I really enjoyed Asher’s interactions with Brady. They got my mind moving and I was secretly rooting for a relationship to begin between the two of them. I wanted more text conversations and clues as to who Brady really is. I have my conspiracy theories, but I doubt they’ll come to be, seeing as the tone of Single is not that of a dramatic thriller. What I didn’t enjoy …There was so much information left out. I’m a huge believer in tossing the reader into the action of the story. But we barely got any back story to Asher or Sean. The characters were flat. I feel like I knew more about the secondary characters than I did about the Ash and Sean. There wasn’t that much interaction between Sean and Asher. I didn’t feel the chemistry between them. It was extremely short, I read it in about an hour and a half and if it were longer, their interactions drawn out, then perhaps I would have enjoyed this a lot more.

Wonderful and Sweet!
3.5 Stars! I really enjoyed Ash's and Sean's romance and am excited for this series. In Ash, we get an exhausted new father. His level of love, sleeplessness, and worry for his daughter really shines in this tale. Sean falls in love with Ash's dedication to his baby as well as to his lovely self. They are both kind characters and the next door neighbors theme is really well done here.Sean's friends and housemates promise excellent future books as does Ash's on line single gay dad support group. We get a slow burn with lovely dates with baby in tow. It is a sweet and good and a lovely read. I treasure character driven low angst romance. It is set in San Diego which I love. However, some of the details are just a tad off and that takes me out of the story in places. La Jolla is one of the most expensive places to live in the nation for example and I would like the nieghborhood would be more like Point Loma (still really pricey) or La Mesa (cute but inland).Overall, a really pleasure time was had. When is the next one.

Sweet two men and a baby
Oh what a wonderful story!! Ash is left and does the Dad thing alone and determined to give everything he has to Mia, no dating just being a Dad. Then he meets his new neighbors. Sean notices Ash right away and wanted him. Little by little Sean breaks down the barrier that Ash has built up. This is such a sweet and hot book, a must read! Book 2, looks to be fantastic too!!!

Great beginning to a new series
I ordered this for a change from the other m/m books I have been reading. I really didn't know if this was going to be good or not but I had read other books by this author so I took a chance. Smart move on my part. I started this book late last night and I am on the last chapter tonight. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in this genre of book reading. Very enjoyable and I am so glad that I have the others in the series to read next.

Just o.k.
Glad it wasn't full of sex and had real story. But a bit boring. Could have expanded the story more.

Cute and fun
4.5This was a fun and sweet read, I really enjoyed this book and I think it's a great start to a new series. I'm definitely a fan of single dad stories and totally fell for Ash as he navigates being a single dad with a newborn. He is trying so hard to be the perfect dad to Mia, he is obviously so devoted to his daughter it just warmed my heart! Then you add in hot doctor Sean and his immediate affection for Ash and yeah this book was just bound to be a winner for me.

Predictable
The idea is good. But after four pages you'll have it all sussed outThe characters are very thinly drawn. This seems like something that been thrown together in one afternoonSorry, but this is not up to scratch

Good start to a new series from RJ...
I haven't read many RJ Scott stories in the last few years, although when I first started reading M/M I loved her Sanctuary series. Unfortunately I now consider her stories a little bit twee for my tastes...hardly any sex and everyone is so darned nice BUT the premise of this series caught my eye and I do seem to turn to a puddle of goo at the idea of guys having kids of their own 😍😍😍. Anyhoo...my review follows.4 stars from me. Really enjoyed this light, fluffy, little to no sex read from RJ...except for Darius the Douchebag...may he catch some dreadful disease 🤬. Ash was understandably wary of other men after being let down and cheated upon, but at least he had Mia to console himself with 👼. I must admit nothing gets my silly female hormones going quite like seeing a guy care for a baby all on his own 😍😍. Sean was such a wonderfully kind person compared to Darius, and was deserving of a little love and attention from Ash and Mia himself...cos he definitely did all the chasing.Eric and Brady's story up next in book 2 'Today' [August].

I think this is my favourite RJ romance yet - everything I want in a book
Well that might just be my favourite RJ romance yet. Single is a beautiful combination of just enough angst, with plenty of heart and a healthy dose of steam to keep things on the boil. With a great sense of family, both blood and found, and a wonderful cast of secondary characters and interesting setting, this series is shaping up to be a cracker.I loved Asher and Sean, I liked the slow burn of their friendship, coupled with the hot sexual attraction which smouldered for a while before bursting into flame.Add a cute kid, a Labrador named after Captain America, a single dad support group and the mix is perfect.Bring on Eric and the mysterious Brady!

I'm hooked....
....on this series already. I love the 3 guys who are new to the neighbourhood and even if Eric's introduction of himself and Sean isn't that welcome, Asher soon realises that he quite likes the idea of having a sexy, fence vaulting doctor living next door and Sean's easy way with Mia is a sure fire way to get into Asher's good graces. can't wait for book 2
