I love this water fountain!
This is one of those products that you don't know you need and then it changes your life! When I saw this at a friend’s house, I knew this was going to be good, but I had no idea.I was constantly disgusted by the slime that would build up in my dogs' water bowl daily. My dogs would stop drinking the moment it got a little bit dirty. I was always scrubbing it clean and it took a while, as their slobber created this tough coat of slime that didn't seem to come off without a lot of effort. This is why I bought it, but it was so much better than that! When it arrived, I put it together as directed. I didn't think I was going to use the flower part as I thought it looked nicer as a bubbler and be less confusing for the dogs, but when they didn't take to it right away, I put the flower on it to peak their interest. My very fluffy bearded dog started drinking from the flower fountain and his sponge-like beard didn't touch the water in the bowl, I was so excited that I squealed! He had been slowly ruining our supposedly water resistant pergo floors with all the excess water that would drip off his thick absorbent beard and now no water dripping onto the floor! This was a very pleasant surprise!I was nervous about the reservoir running low on water even though it holds a lot. So, for a couple of days I would bend down to keep checking the water levels, this was annoying, but after a few days, I discovered that it alerts you if it begins to get low. The fountain is usually absolutely silent, unless it gets a little low and then you hear the faintest trickle which gets louder as the water gets lower. So, if you hear the fountain, time to add some more water, just poor it straight into the bowl, easy.I bought extra filters, but it comes with four. It says to replace the filter every 1-2 weeks. I use filtered water from the fridge so I thought I could go a little longer, but at two weeks, I unplugged it and checked the bowl for slime, it was totally clean. I am replacing the filter every 3 weeks as I don’t want to wait for it to get dirty before replacing. You need an electric outlet for the fountain and the only place that it could be placed in my kitchen was a narrow path between the fridge and the island. I was a little concerned about someone tripping over it, but that hasn’t been a problem. It is small enough in circumference and comes with a blue led light which acts as a nightlight and helps avoid accidental bumps.I am buying one for my mom soon, and if mine ever broke, it would replace it. I will never go back to a plain water bowl.

I love this product (and so do my cats)!
This fountain is great. I was hesitant to buy it at first because I have bought numerous fountains, and my cats always refuse to drink out of them because of the noise. However, I needed to get one because my oldest cat has reoccurring crystals in his bladder. The vet said that fountains help stimulate cats to drink more water because, back in the day, cats use to drink from streams and rivers that were running, rather than standing because standing water was often contaminated. Same goes for water bowls vs fountains; water bowls are full of bacteria, hair, and things your fur baby shouldn't be ingesting, while fountains are constantly running, and this one actually filters out anything your cat shouldn't be drinking. (Sorry for the history lesson but I thought it was really interesting and informative when I was told). With that being said, I really like the fact that this came with 2 filter pads, a nightlight, and an option to take out the spout and make it basically a filtering water bowl. This is the quietest fountain I have ever bought, and the first one that my cats actually drink out of. Definitely would recommend every cat owner to invest in this product.

Nice fountain but. . .
Cat had it dismantled in 30 minutes. Flower, stem, bowl, and filter flung around the room. Luckily, the basin was too heavy to knock over. Couldn't trust cats with it alone for several days. But now they understand how it works and drink without a problem. The fountain is well-built and generally sturdy besides the initial dismantling. Some people say it doesn't need a filter if you have filtered water. I think the filter helps keep it quieter. But it still sounds like there is a fountain or a fish tank in the room. It may be more muffled in a room with a rug. But I like the sound. The biggest problem I have with it is the light. It's nice to see the water level, but it lights up the whole room at night. The whole bowl glows. This might be a good thing for some folks - a big, blue, night light. For me, however, it's too bright. I may eventually replace it with a fountain that has no light.Oh, it came with a nice floor pad, which I replaced with a larger, more absorbent pet food mat. Glad I did; it soaked up the water that got initially spilled.

Exactly as promised.
I have 2 cats and will be leaving them for a week (work related) in the care of someone who has difficulty physically so I wanted to make it easier and thought this would help. It is exactly as described, came quickly, is very easy to assemble and is adorable. It's completely quiet and has a nice low blue light which stays on all the time. The water even seems to stay fairly cool, maybe because of the stainless steel. However, I'm not 100% sure my cats are actually drinking from it. I'm trying to get them used to it before I leave so I lead them to it and dab my finger in it and show them it's water. The level is going down so I think they are drinking but I'm still trying to catch them to make sure. The level is very easy to see by the way. They are not afraid of it, just skeptical. I'm sure they'll get used to it in time. I love it so I hope they do eventually too. I gave it 4 stars in cleaning because it looks somewhat involved but not awful.
