This shirt from the WarbirdShirts™ collection features the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird . The Blackbird was developed in strict secrecy by Lockheed Skunk Works to replace Lockheed’s vulnerable U-2 spyplane after one was shot down over the Soviet Union in 1960. The U.S. Air Force began operating Blackbirds in 1966, and the SR-71 remains the all-time fastest and highest-flying airbreathing craft, having set the absolute speed record at Match 3.3 in July of 1976. Thirty-two were built, and because they can outfly any enemy plane or missile, no SR-71 has ever been shot down. The United States never exported the Blackbird, and the aircraft was retired after the Cold War ended.

A little small but...
Great shirt, and amazing how much attention it gets! Can't go to the grocery store or the beach without someone commenting on it. Awesome piece of engineering (and designed with slide rules to boot!). I already ordered an XL.
