It wasn't the cables' fault, but Sony's
UPDATE: After supergluing the socket back into my Z2 these charging cables work better than ever. Now I can pick the phone up, move it around, and use it without interrupting the charging. I still wouldn't say they're perfect but they seem quite good now, so I am willing to blame Sony's design rather than these products for my previous difficulties. My original review is below.------I have both the cable and the X2 adapter, one for in the car and the other at home. I looked forward to these as an alternative to opening the flimsy cover on the Micro USB port every time I want to charge, and these worked... sort of. Even with a thin case the cable has trouble touching the contacts, and the X2 adapter is better in that respect but either the pins or the USB socket are loose so touching the phone, adapter, or the wire stops charging. And I should say that I don't know whether these chargers or Sony's design is to blame, but either way both the cable and adapter are best described as finicky.Over the month since I bought them the connecting problems have only gotten worse, which I was ready to attribute to poor manufacturing. Today I discovered that it was... by Sony. Yes, I am one more Xperia owner who has had the charging connectors pull out of the phone from these chargers. If you bought an Xperia imported, as I did (the Z2 wasn't released in the U.S.), and consequently have no warranty, I advise against purchasing these chargers. Time to see if I can fix my brand new phone...

Magnet is very strong, but...
The media could not be loaded. Update (2016-10-20):My phone is still fine after over a year of using this product. I've added a video explaining the "fold" technique I use for removing the MagNector without damaging my phone.Update:I've been using this charger exclusively, for a few months now. I've been using the "fold" method of removing the charger, described above, and this charger has not yet damaged my phone in any way.I also realized that the Sony charging dock accessory may not fit if you keep your phone in a protective case of any kind, but this product is likely to work fine.Original review:I got this for the Xperia Z3 Compact D5803.It's pretty expensive for what it is. The included silicone carrying case, as far as I'm concerned, is useless. I just leave the adapter on the end of my charging cable. The convenience of the mag charger, over having to open the side of the phone, is nice. With regard to the magnet being too strong, and pulling the connector off the phone: I can see this being an issue, BUT ONLY IF I don't "fold" the adapter off. Don't pull the magnet straight out–instead, if the phone is lying flat on its back, stick your finger under the edge of the adapter, and "fold" it, as if the phone and connected adapter are a piece of paper and you are folding the adapter onto the top of the phone. The amount of effort necessary to get the magnetic adapter off, by "folding" it off, is much lower, than for pulling it straight away from the phone. Whether or not "folding" actually prevents the connector from coming loose remains to be seen; I've only used this adapter for a few days. You could also try to "pinch off" the adapter, so that you are pushing the connector into the phone, as you pull the adapter off of the connector. If you are at all worried about it, either consider charging your phone with the plain usb cable, or getting something with a weaker magnet. If you have the cash, and really want to make use of the magnetic charging feature of your phone, just get the Sony accessory.

Does indeed have magnets that are too strong.
As others have stated, this one does indeed have too strong of a magnetic pull. I got this for my grandmother thinking this would be the most amazing thing for her since she started using electronics like these (she has exceptionally bad vision and plugging in chargers can be a real problem for her) but as others have stated, this can actually begin to pull the connector out. That is not only dangerous and damaging to the device, but it also negates the exceptional water proofing that Sony is so proud of on their recent devices (which I believe applies to anything sporting one of these connectors.) I caught it in time enough to avoid serious problems and I superglued the connector back in (I believe well enough to protect it) but definitely had to tell her to stop using this and use the old fashioned USB connection (in fact, now, I'm not certain I would trust an official magnetic charger now that it has done the damage to the connector.)It's a great idea, but they seriously need to tweak this thing. Though, I will admit that even when it was working it was still a bit iffy. Its large size and weight -- particularly with the addition of the USB plug itself -- is part of the problem, but it was still relatively easy to knock it loose by bumping it while actually using the device (so I'd say it was only useful for charging while not in use.) There's some definite irony to the fact that in this respect I would describe the magnets as still not being strong enough. Ultimately the problem is that a bulky adapter just isn't a very viable solution. (Perhaps better would be something with a minimal physical connector portion like official magnetic chargers and a relatively short cable connecting to the standard USB connector further down the line.)Luckily I've probably found a better alternative via Kickstarter: Znaps. While the protective cover for the charging port must stay off for that to work, it should make for an exceptionally easy connection for her to use. They aren't out on the market at the time I'm writing this, but they should be very soon and hopefully they will appear here on Amazon quickly.
