Good mat but really really really thick!
First of all let me say that the seller is awesome got in touch with me right aaway concerning the thickness of this mat. I have a AT-LP120 & it has an adjustable tonearm height got this mat working no problem. The only issue is my lack of foresight! I should've listened to the seller who recommended the thinner 1/8" mat! Why?Well if you have any thought of adding a record clamp or weight you should most deffinately get the thinner mat! While this works fine on my table there's hardly any spindle protruding from the mat so a clamp will likely not have enough to grab onto like wise a weight might not stay put. I've added 3 photos of my TT one with the mat only so you can get an idea of how thick it is. The next one is with a 180 gram album on top of the mat. The last is of my stock 1/8" mat with the same 180 gram vinyl.

fantastic customer service. Just what I wanted.
I have a turntable that does not allow for VTA/tonearm height adjustment. Switching out the cartridge necessitated a thicker mat in order to compensate for the new cartridge height. This was the only mat I could find which advertised itself as being appropriately thick (1/4 inch) The mat itself is cork, it’s nice and flat to my eye and the hole in the center for the spindle is uniform and appropriately sized for my turntable (U-turn orbit). The outer edge is well cut, however the dimensions are several millimeters too short. This leaves the outer edge of a 12 inch record floating in space and unsupported.I’m going to hang onto it as getting the VTA correct is more important than the last few millimeters of support; but if I manage to find one that’s a full 12 inches and reasonably priced I would trade it out.Update: I made an inquiry to the seller regarding the diameter of this product. They offered to provide one cut to my desired measurements. I will provide another update if/when this occurs.Update 2.0: Company responded to my disappointment with the diameter of this mat by ASKING ME TO TELL THEM WHAT SIZE I WANTED AND THEY MADE A CUSTOM MAT AND SENT IT. New mat is perfect. Five plus stars.

Need VTA adjustment?
I want to thank you for selling such fine quality cork mats. I purchased both the 1/8" and the 1/4" mat for a total thickness of 3/8" increase in my record height! I do not have VTA adjustment on my tonearm, and needed to make my tonearm parallel to the record surface. Well, if you can't make the tonearm go down, you make the record go up! My tonearm is now perfectly parallel with the playing surface and my new Ortofon 2M Bronze with line contact stylus is just singing with detail! Thanks again for selling these great mats. Regards, Eric

A No-Brainer Upgrade From Felt Mats
I was a bit wary of spending money on something that the record just sits on but for about fifteen bucks this is a great deal. The differences I noticed are small but add up to something great:1. Antistatic. It's not a fancy grounded ESD electronics mat but it helps noticeably with the static level, allowing me to properly remove dust from the record. I also never realized that the static contributed greatly to the level of surface noise on the album. Imagine little electrical arcs/discharges to the needle from the vinyl.2. Flatness. This mat made me realize how lumpy my old felt mat was from my budget turntable, an Audio Technica AT-LP120. This really makes a difference with tracking, needle wear, record wear, and smoothness with which an album plays because it reduced bouncing during playback.3. Looks. Lets be honest here, we're all a little vain and this cork mat makes my setup look a bit more classy and retro, which I like.4. Sound Quality? Other than what I mentioned about being level, I'm not sure there's much of a difference here except perhaps in the bass region where I seem to be able to notice slightly more quantity and slightly higher quality of bass. Coupled with a record clamp, this difference is more clear. You can get about the same sound quality increase by fine tuning your speaker and seating positions unless that is already optimized.Go ahead and order one, I think you'll be pleased.Enjoy.

I was getting pretty darn good results
Last winter I rebuilt and re-plithed a mid '50s Rek-O-Kut Rondine Jr. L-34. I was getting pretty darn good results, but I could detect just a little rumble when using the stereo SME 3009 arm, especially since its Shure M91ED fitted with a sensitive JICO SAS stylus. The stock mat is a thin piece of rather hard plastic - not the best choice for a platter mat. I experimented with a DIY 1/8" thick cork mat, and that helped a little, but wasn't able to fully remedy the rumble. (I was also unsatisfied with my inability to cut it into a clean, even circle.)I found this Amazon seller offering 1/4" thick cork mats (ie: 2x the usual thickness) for short bread, so I decided to give it a shot.I can't say what effect it will have on your turntable, but it has made big improvements to this ROK's performance! Besides suppressing the noise floor considerably (yay!), I am also noticing a pretty big improvement in imaging. I had previously been a bit disappointed that I wasn't getting much soundstage depth, but now I am getting a vividly 3D sound-image. Transients and slam are much more impactful too.The seller was excellent too, contacting me prior to shipping to confirm that the spindle on my turntable is tall enough to accommodate a 1/4" thick mat (it's VERY thick). Indeed, on the ROK just a little nub pokes out, so keep that in mind if you're thinking of trying one out.I highly recommend this mat, especially for those of you with idler decks.
